Richards was waived by the Mystics on Aug. 20, and she will have to wait until next season to join a new club due to a season-ending Achilles injury. The 25-year-old finished the 2024 campaign with averages of 2.4 points and 1.5 rebounds across 10.4 minutes per game in 19 appearances (seven starts).

Richards has been battling an Achilles injury since before the Olympic break and will now have to prove she's healthy before joining a new team. After not playing in the WNBA last year, Richards inked a deal with Washington this summer and averaged 10.4 minutes across 19 appearances (seven starts) for the shorthanded Mystics.

Richards will miss her fourth consecutive game due to a right Achilles injury. The 25-year-old has not played since before the Olympic break, and coach Eric Thibault said Saturday that she has been a limited participant in practice. Richards' next opportunity to suit up will come Friday against the Sparks.

It appears that Richards is no longer dealing with a knee injury but is still having issues with her Achilles that will cause her to miss Washington's third straight contest Saturday. While there is no timetable for Richards' return, her next chance to suit up is Tuesday's matchup with Seattle.

Richards hasn't played since July 14, and she'll have to continue waiting to make her return to the hardwood. Richards' next chance to feature will come against the Storm on Tuesday, but even when she returns, she shouldn't affect many fantasy decisions.
