#StreakWatch: The Lynx and Sparks Refuse to Lose

What better way to start off the WNBA’s landmark 20th season than by rewriting the record books?

This is the latest in the schedule that multiple teams have been undefeated, and the Lynx over the weekend tied their own record — set in 2012 — with their 10th consecutive win to open the season. The Sparks improved to 9-0 with another 20-plus point rout.

WNBA.com’s Brian Martin explains just how historically dominant these two teams have been.

Oh, and circle these dates: June 21 and 24 — next Tuesday and Friday — when Minnesota and L.A. face off in must-see back-to-back games.

#Primetime: Lynx Go for Record in Tuesday’s Finals Rematch on ESPN2

Minnesota’s chase for history takes center stage in a huge five-game night Tuesday when the Lynx host the Indiana Fever in a Finals rematch on ESPN2 (8 PM ET).

The Sparks shoot for a 10-0 start of their own in the nightcap on WNBA League Pass against the Sky — our second Candace Parker vs. Elena Delle Donne matchup of the season.

The slate also features Mystics-Sun (7 PM ET), Wings-Liberty (7 PM ET) and Storm-Stars (8 PM ET) on ESPN3.

#WNBA20: NBA Stars Pay Tribute

The WNBA unveiled its latest “Watch Me Work” spot for Game 5 of the NBA Finals, featuring LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul paying tribute to the landmark 20th season.

#PlayersoftheWeek: Ogwumike and Meesseman Honored

There’s no such thing as a perfect game in basketball, but Nneka Ogwumike played as close to perfect as you can get on Saturday night.

The Sparks forward made all 12 of her shot attempts — a WNBA record — en route to 32 points. On Monday, she earned Player of the Week honors alongside Mystics forward Emma Meesseman, who averaged 21.0 points and 9.5 rebounds.

#WatchMeWork: Stewart Comes Home, Loyd Comes Up Clutch

Despite a tough loss to the Sun, Friday was a special day for Storm rookie Breanna Stewart. Nearly two months after she led UConn to an unprecedented fourth straight title, Stewart made her return to Connecticut.

The other half of the Storm’s exciting young duo shined in Seattle’s next game. Jewell Loyd scored eight of her 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Storm to a road upset of the Fever, continuing the second-year guard’s breakout season.

#GoSun: Thomas, Tuck Provide Thrills in Connecticut

The Sun’s matchup against the Seattle Storm on Friday was supposed to be all about Stewart’s return to Connecticut. But Alyssa Thomas had other plans for headline writers. Crashing the glass in the final seconds, she tipped home Camille Little’s miss to give the Sun a 77-76 victory in front of a packed Mohegan Sun Arena.

Speaking of UConn, the Sun’s own Huskie has started to shine. Morgan Tuck played sparingly to start the season, but has been fantastic lately. On Friday against the Storm and her former college roommate (Stewart), she posted a career-high 20 points while going 3-3 from beyond the arc, and on Sunday, against the East-leading Atlanta Dream, put up 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

#GoSparks: Owner Magic Johnson On L.A.’s Perfect Start

#History: Pondexter Moves to Sixth All-Time in Scoring

On Friday against the Indiana Fever, Cappie Pondexter made history by becoming just the seventh player in WNBA history to score 6,000 career points. Then, on Sunday against the Phoenix Mercury, Cappie cut backdoor, took a beautiful bounce pass from Elena Delle Donne, and converted the layup to move past Lauren Jackson into sixth place on the all-time scoring list.

#Out4Redemption: Taurasi Posts Back-to-Back 31-Point Games

The Phoenix Mercury haven’t had quite the start people expected, but Diana Taurasi is out to change that. Back from a year-long absence, Taurasi has looked as impressive as ever. And thanks to back-to-back 31-point games this past week, the Mercury star is leading the league in scoring at 21.4 points per game. If she can keep it up, it will be her first scoring title since she won four straight from 2008-2011.

#ICYMI: Swin Cash Announces Retirement
