College Highlights
After playing volleyball in fall and basketball in winter of her first three years at BYU � earning First Team All-American honors in volleyball and First Team All-West Coast Conf. honors as a junior � Hamson redshirted the most recent volleyball season to concentrate on hoops. Went on to become first WCC basketball player ever voted Player of the Year and Defensive POY in same season. Led nation in blocks, while ranking atop WCC in FG% and ranking 2nd in scoring and rebounding. 2012-13: All-WCC First Team after ranking 12th in Div. 1 in blocks. 2011-12: Paced WCC in blocks and FG%. MISC: As a youngster, passed on basketball in favor of gymnastics but ultimately followed in footsteps of her mother, Tresa Spaulding, a former BYU All-American who led nation in scoring in 1987 and was an alternate for the 1984 U.S. Olympic team.
