Tianna Hawkins

Despite Thibault announcing Hawkins' retirement Monday, the veteran forward's future is now uncertain. It's unclear if Hawkins would consider joining another WNBA team after spending eight of her 10 seasons with the Mystics.

Hawkins put together one of the best seasons of her career in 2023 for the Mystics, putting up 8.2 points in 23.1 minutes per game. However, she's elected to call it a career following 10 seasons in the league. Hawkins will walk away having appeared in 297 total games, averaging 6.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists.

After playing 13 minutes during Friday's Game 1, Hawkins saw a slight uptick in playing time in Tuesday's overtime matchup. However, she was held scoreless for just the second time this year and was unable to generate any counting stats outside of rebounds. Her role increased slightly during the 2023 campaign, as she averaged 8.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 23.1 minutes per game while starting 21 of 40 appearances. She's slated to become a free agent during the offseason.

Hawkins failed to top five points for the third consecutive game and the seventh time in the last 10 games. However, she made a solid impact on the glass, notching her 19th game this season with at least five rebounds.

Hawkins will be replaced by Myisha Hines-Allen in the starting five for a second straight game. Hawkins is averaging 4.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in 16.5 minutes across her previous 17 appearances coming off the bench this season.
