How Acquired: Caitlin Clark was selected by the Indiana Fever as the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
WNBA Career: In two seasons Clark has entered into the all-time franchise record books, sitting seventh in assists (452) and is eighth in three pointers made (151).
During 2025 Clark was named a WNBA All-Star for the second-consecutive season, this time also earning WNBA All-Star Captain honors, hosted in her home market of Indianapolis, Indiana at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
In her rookie season Clark set league single-season (337) and single-game records (19) in assists, broke the rookie scoring record (769), and became the first rookie to achieve a triple-double. Additionally, Clark broke and set records for rookie assists (337), rookie assists per game (19, July 17, 2024 vs Dallas), rookie three-pointers made (122), most rookie triple doubles (2) and most rookie double-doubles (12).
Clark was named the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, the third Fever player to earn such an honor. Additionally, Clark was the only rookie selected to the All-WNBA First Team, the first rookie since 2009 and only the fifth overall to ever be named to the league’s first team. She was also one of two nominated to the 2024 WNBA All-Star team, leading the league in fan voting. In the All-Star game she became the seventh rookie to be named a starter and set the rookie record for assists in a game with 10.
At the end of the year Clark was named the Time Magazine Athlete of the Year, the first WNBA player to win the award. Additionally, Clark was named Associated Press’ Female Athlete of the Year, joining Candance Park as the only WNBA history to be selected and only the fourth women’s basketball player to be chosen in the award’s 94-year history.
College: At the collegiate level, Clark left the University of Iowa as the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer, surpassing Kelsey Plum on February 15, 2024, finishing her career with 3,951 points scored. Clark also holds the NCAA Division I record for field goals made (1,293), three-pointers made (548) and points per game (28.42). Subsequently, Clark holds program records in all previously mentioned categories, as well as assists (1,144).
Per season, Clark led the NCAA Division I in scoring in 2021, 2022 and 2024, while leading the NCAA Division I in assists in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Clark is a two-time AP Player of the Year (2023, 2024), a two-time Naismith College Player of the Year (2023, 2024), a two-time USBWA National Player of the Year (2023, 2024), a two-time Wade Trophy winner (2023, 2024), a two-time Honda-Broderick Cup winner (2023, 2024), a two-time Honda Sports award winner (2023, 2024), a two-time James E. Sullivan Award winner (2023, 2024) and a two-time John R. Wooden Award winner (2023, 2024). Additionally, Clark was the 2021 WBCA Co-Freshman of the Year and 2021 USBWA National Co-Freshman of the Year.
At the conference level, Clark was a two-time Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year (2023, 2024), a three-time Big Ten Player of the Year (2022, 2023, 2024), a three-time Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Player (2022, 2023, 2024) and the 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Clark had her jersey retired by the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2025, one of only three in program history to earn such an honor.
