How Acquired: Aliyah Boston was selected first overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2023 WNBA Draft.
WNBA Career: In just three seasons Boston has already written herself into the Fever’s record books with the third-most blocks (140), the fourth-most offensive rebounds (343), defensive rebounds (708) and total rebounds (1,051), as well as the seventh-most points (1,798) and ninth-most assists (378).
In her third professional season Boston set new Indiana Fever franchise records for the most offensive rebounds (125), defensive rebounds (254), total rebounds (361) in a single season, Additionally, Boston set a new franchise record for double-doubles in a single season with 17. Boston finished the regular season in the league’s top 10 for total rebounds (361), defensive rebounds (254), offensive rebounds (107), double-doubles (17), steals (52) and blocks (41). Additionally, Boston’s 660 points were the 13th most in the league and her 163 assists were the 14th most in the league, while also being the most of any center. On June 24, 2025 against Seattle Storm Boston set a new career-high for points in a single game with 31.
For the first time in her career Boston earned All-WNBA Second Team honors, as well as All-Defensive WNBA Second Team honors. College: At the collegiate level, Boston spent four years at the University of South Carolina where she led the gamecocks to three-consecutive NCAA Final Four appearances, winning the NCAA Championship in 2022.
Boston recorded a game-high 16 rebounds in the championship game, while scoring 11 points to give South Carolina the 64-49 victory over Connecticut and the program its second NCAA title.
Following the championship game, Boston was named the AP Player of the Year, Naismith College Player of the Year, USBWA National Player of the Year, and was the recipient of the Honda Sports Award, Honda-Broderick Cup, John R. Wooden Award and the Wade Trophy.
Additionally, Boston is a two-time Naismith Defensive Player of the Year (2022, 2023), and a four-time winner of the Lisa Leslie Award, recognizing the top center in collegiate women’s basketball.
Within the her conference, Boston was a three-time SEC Champion and two-time SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player. Boston was awarded the 2022 SEC Female Athlete of the Year, the 2022 and 2023 SEC Player of the Year and is a four-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023).
In her freshman year Boston made history as the first freshman in NCAA Division I history to post a triple-double. Boston was named the consensus USBWA Freshman of the Year and WBCA Freshman of the Year, as well as the SEC Freshman of the Year.
Boston left South Carolina having scored the fifth-most points in program history (1,942), while setting a new record for rebounds, totaling 1,493 across her four-year career.
