WNBA Overseas Report: Nov. 28

Some of the WNBA’s biggest stars have already returned to the hardwood overseas to keep their games sharp and give new meaning to “#WatchMeWork.” See how some the best are doing abroad.
- After seeing her 2016 season end in the second round of the playoffs despite a 27-point outburst, Angel has taken her talents to Russia to play for Dynamo Kirsk. Through five games Angel hasn’t missed a step, averaging 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game.
- Stewie continues to assert her dominance in China for Shangahi Baoshan Dahua. The W’s Rookie of the Year is averaging 31.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game through her first 12 contests, all of which are team highs. In her last game on Nov. 26, Stewart dropped 41 points in 38 minutes of game action.
- Although they’re teammates in Seattle, Loyd is now an opponent for the aforementioned Stewart as she suits up for the Shanxi Flame. Similar to Stewart, Loyd leads her team in points (30.9) and assists (3.3) per game. She’s also second on the squad in rebounds per game with 6.3.
- Meesseman took a break from her time at UMMC Ekaterinburg in Russia to help the Belgian national team qualify for EuroBasket 2017. For the first time in 10 years, the Cats will take part in the tournament after their 77-61 victory over Poland.
- Chiney is playing her offseason ball with Henan Yichuan in China. Through 11 games she’s averaging an impressive 32.5 points and 13.4 rebounds per contest, and had a 26-point, seven-rebound, two-steal performance in a win over Shanxi on Nov. 19.
- The WNBA’s regular season scoring champ has been putting up similar numbers in China for the Sichuan Whales. In her debut on Nov. 19, she finished with 28 points and 14 rebounds.
- Atlanta’s dynamic guard is spending her offseason playing for Mersin BSB in Turkey. The 27-year-old is averaging a team-high 19.8 points per game while also nabbing a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game. The squad is 3-2 thus far this season.
- Paris is playing in her seventh season overseas and her second season for Hatay Büyükşehir Belediye in the Turkish Women’s Basketball League. The center is averaging 9.8 points per game and a team-high 10.8 rebounds in her three games thus far.
- Petrovic has USK Praha in the Czech Republic out to an impressive 10-0 start to their season. Her best performance thus far came in 101-42 win on November 12 after she dropped a game-high 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field. Petrovic also dished five assists and grabbed three rebounds.
