GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  • With the game tied at 66 in the fourth quarter, Las Vegas hit four straight field goals to anchor an 11-2 run and go up 77-68 with six minutes left to play, and Seattle never got closer than eight the rest of the way.
  • For the second time in franchise history, the Storm started 8-3 before dropping its 12th regular season contest. Seattle’s 8-4 record ties for second all-time (2004) for best start through 12 games.
  • Tonight’s contest featured the last four No. 1 picks in the WNBA draft: Jewell Loyd (2015), Breanna Stewart (2016), Kelsey Plum (2017) and A’ja Wilson (2018).

 

KEY STATS OF THE GAME

  • Las Vegas owned the glass, 47-30. Twenty-eight of those 47 rebounds came between A’ja Wilson and JiSu Park, who both set career-highs for rebounds. The Aces’ advantage translated into a 17-2 edge in second-chance points.
  • The third quarter featured 10 lead changes and three ties, capped by a basket b JiSu Park with 16.7 seconds left to go to knot the affair at 66 apiece.

 

STORM HIGHLIGHTS
  • Breanna Stewart eclipsed the 20-point mark for the ninth time this season, finishing with a game-high 27 on 8-for-20 shooting. She also had a team-high nine rebounds and three assists.
  • Jewell Loyd has scored in double figures in all but one game this season. She finished with 14 points on 6-for-18 shooting to go along with a team-high seven assists.
  • Jordin Canada came off the bench to tally eight points and five assists, her third game with five or more dimes.
  • Natasha Howard totaled three blocks. She now has 22 on the season and needs just five more to tie her single-season career high of 27, set during the 2016 campaign in Minnesota.
  • With her sixth field goal of the game at the 3:18 mark of the fourth quarter, Jewell Loyd booked her 600th-career basket.
  • Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis notched her second-career start in the WNBA. Her only other start came on 9/3/16 at Chicago. She had six points and tied a career-high with four rebounds, which she has now achieved four times.
  • Crystal Langhorne saw her first action since May 25, when she suffered a right rib injury against the Chicago Sky. She posted four points and two rebounds.
  • The Storm played without Alysha Clark (right ankle) and Sue Bird (rest).
  • With Las Vegas’ stays in San Antonio and Utah included, the Storm fell to 41-31 all-time against the franchise.
  • After missing 14 of its first 15 shots and falling behind by 14 (17-3) early, Seattle made its last six field goals of the first quarter to cut the deficit to just six (22-16). The Storm then outscored the Aces by seven (23-16) in the second frame to take a one-point (39-38) advantage into the locker room, its first lead of the game at the time.

 

ACES HIGHLIGHTS
  • A’ja Wilson (25 points) scored in double figures for the 13th straight time to start her WNBA career. It is also the eighth time she has scored 20 or more points.
  • A’ja Wilson (25 points, 15 rebounds) recorded her fifth double-double of the season, and her fourth game of 20 or more points and 10 or more rebounds.
  • A’ja Wilson grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds, and handed out a career-high six assists.
  • Kayla McBride (17 points) reached double figures in scoring for the 10th time in 11 games this season, and the ninth-straight time.
  • Kelsey Plum handed out a season-high tying 6 assists.
  • JiSu Park grabbed 10 or more rebounds for the second time this season and set a new career-high with 12 rebounds.
  • Tamera Young scored 11 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter to go along with seven rebounds.
  • Led by 15 points between Kayla McBride and A’ja Wilson, the Aces opened the game on a 17-3 run. Wilson scored the first nine points for Las Vegas.
