- After the Las Vegas Aces cut the Lynx lead to 39-33 at the half, Minnesota put up a season-high for any quarter in the third, outscoring the Aces 32-20 on the way its largest victory of the season, 88-73 in its first ever visit to the Mandalay Events Center. The Lynx have now won four in a row and five out their last six games.
- After tonight’s wire-to-wire victory, during the current four-game winning streak, the Lynx have trailed for a total of 16 seconds (New York led 7-6 from 6:55 to 6:39 of the first quarter on June 16).
- Maya Moore led the way once again in scoring column for the Lynx, finishing with a game-high 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting including 2-of-5 from deep and a perfect 5-of-5 from the line. She added six rebounds for the second straight game. Tonight was Moore’s fourth straight and 110th career 20+ point performance of her career, passing teammate Seimone Augustus for most in franchise history.
- Sylvia Fowles had another dominating performance for Minnesota putting up her league-leading 10th double-double of the season (137th career) while she finished with 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. Tonight was Fowles’ fourth 20+ points/10+ rebound effort of the season (56th career).
- Tonight was the second time the season and 14th overall in the regular season that Fowles and Moore both scored 20+ in the same game. Minnesota is now 14-0 in those games.
- Lindsay Whalen stuffed the stat sheet tonight in Las Vegas as dished out a season-high-tying and game-high nine assists while adding four points and four rebounds. The Lynx move to 59-3 overall when Whalen dishes out seven or more assists in a game.
- Rebekkah Brunson came up huge on both sides of the ball tonight, playing a large role in holding Aces rookie A’ja Wilson to a season-low 10 points tonight. Brunson finished with 11 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists. She is now 42 rebounds away from passing Tamika Catchings for the most rebounds in WNBA history.
- For the second straight game, the Lynx held their opponent under 45% from the field, holding Las Vegas to 41.1% (29-of-70). Minnesota moves to 4-1 this season when holding their opponent to below 45%.
- Minnesota shot a season-high 55.1% from the floor this afternoon. The Lynx are now 32-1 all-time when shooting 55% or better.
- The Lynx return home on Tuesday to face the Seattle Storm for the first time this season. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m. CT. The game can be heard on BOB 106 FM and can be seen on Fox Sports Go.
