The first half of Championship Week is complete, but in the WNBA we’re still waiting to find out the fate of Australian center Liz Cambage, who wants out of Dallas. AP’s WNBA Coaches, GMs tab McCowan for top pick in Mock Draft
The Associated Press polled a panel of WNBA coaches and general managers for a mock draft of the two rounds this spring. Panelists were limited to college seniors and eligible foreign players, and they could not offer a pick for their own team. The top three picks remained the same from the first mock draft with Teaira McCowan, Asia Durr and Kalani Brown going 1-2-3.
The AP will periodically update the draft board.

We remain in a holding pattern on the Liz Cambage saga. But it is instructive that Bill Laimbeer hasn’t given up on getting the game-changing Australian from the Dallas Wings, and in this specific way: clearly, he thinks a path to the championship is through a lineup featuring a five next to A’ja Wilson at the four, rather than utilizing Wilson as many in the league (and, full disclosure, I do, too) see her best: as a forward-thinking five.

The value of adding another 3-point threat to the Aces lineup can’t be overstated. Ionescu, Kayla McBride and Kelsey Plum around A’ja Wilson could lift Vegas into the mix as a top-four offense. Ionescu as a third threat from the perimeter would allow them to better target soft spots in opposing defenses, and opponents can’t ignore her away from the ball to sit right in Wilson’s lap in the lane.
