The Los Angeles Sparks are excited to announce the signing of Jordin Canada. The 26-year-old point guard is from Los Angeles where she starred in high school at the Windward School before attending UCLA. 

Canada was drafted No. 5 overall by the Seattle Storm in the 2018 draft. In four seasons in Seattle, she won two WNBA championships and averaged 7.2 points, 4.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals a game. Her professional accolades include being the WNBA steals leader in 2019 (2.3 per game) and making the WNBA All-Defensive First Team that year.

“Jordin Canada brings championship pedigree and leadership to our group,” General Manager/Head Coach Derek Fisher said. “Her ability to probe defenses with her quickness and play pressure defense fits our identity. In addition, she has invaluable experience running high-level offenses throughout her career. Jordin was an important part of our offseason plan and we’re excited to welcome her home to Los Angeles.”

Prior to the WNBA, Canada led the UCLA women’s basketball program to new heights, winning the WNIT championship and reaching two Sweet Sixteen’s and an Elite Eight during her tenure. She left the program as the all-time assists leader in both school and Pac-12 history.
