Head Coach Fred Williams

(On tonight’s game) “I thought in this one, like I told my team before the game, we were going to get battletested against a team who is on a winning streak. We got tested really well in the second half, not having Liz with us. I thought our team stepped up and put forth on the defensive end…a couple shots didn’t fall for us when it was tied. We just had to continue to play harder and get those shots to fall down for us.”

(On Wings center Liz Cambage) “I just saw her in the locker room with a towel over her face. She will go through a few medical procedures for us, but nothing with the concussion protocol. She’s got a little headache…I don’t see any concern. She’s tough in the way that she’ll bounce back.”

(On his third quarter timeout) “The team didn’t have any energy in that time, but I had the energy in that huddle and I let them have it. I told them you have to play ball, and play hard, and make that extra pass. Quite putting your head down and just play. I think a lot of them were thinking in the back of their mind that we didn’t have Liz with us. We had to step up and go with what we had, and play harder defense, and we did. We made some defensive plays. I just go after it in that huddle.”

Wings guard Allisha Gray

(On the third quarter) “Basketball is a game of runs, and they had their run. At the end of the third quarter it was time for us to have our run. We weren’t lacking energy.”

(On Glory Johnson) “Glo definitely was a spark with Liz going down. Glo just came in and does what she does, and was a great energy spark off the bench.”

Wings forward Kayla Thornton

(On tonight’s offensive runs) “That’s what we do…Like I said, it was just some loose things we didn’t get at the end. As a collective, we did good as a team.”

(On the upcoming Fourth of July plans) “It’s a good thing. We can get together without having to think about basketball and just think about helping the community. It’s a blessing.”

HEAD COACH CHERYL REEVE

(On sustaining the Wings second half run) “They came after us in transition and took the lead. We have been in games like this before here in Dallas. I think we got a couple stops and were able to get the separation that we needed, take the lead and hang on. Dallas plays so well at home, so it is always tough coming here. They play so hard and so physical. They make things difficult. I just told our group that it was not pretty, but winning here is tough to do so I am pleased.”

GUARD MAYA MOORE

(On seven-game winning streak) “We are finding a way to win when things are tough. We are trying to keep our foot on the gas at all times. We just try to make it hard for teams to score, that is always our mindset. I just feel like if we can get on the same page defensively and play together we will be good. It is a good thing when we are on the same page and we will continue to work on it this season with this group.”
