NEW YORK, July 22, 2026 – Guard-forward Kahleah Copper of the Phoenix Mercury has been named by WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert to replace the injured Kelsey Plum of the Los Angeles Sparks on Team Coop in the 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game.
This marks the fifth All-Star selection for Copper, 31, who participated in four consecutive AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Games from 2021-2024. Now in her third season with Phoenix and her 11th in the WNBA, the 6-1 Copper ranks seventh in the league in scoring with a team-leading 20.5 points per game, the second-best mark of her career. In addition, she is contributing 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists.
The 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, July 25 at United Center in Chicago (8:30 p.m. ET on ABC, Disney+ and the ESPN app).

NEW YORK, July 22, 2026 – Two-time Kia WNBA MVP and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026 member Elena Delle Donne, three-time Kia WNBA Most Valuable Player and Naismith Hall of Famer Lauren Jackson, five-time WNBA champion Rebekkah Brunson and three-time WNBA champion Deanna &#8220;Tweety&#8221; Nolan will headline the field for the Kia WNBA Shooting Stars as part of AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star 2026.
The Kia WNBA Shooting Stars and State Farm WNBA 3-Point Contest will be broadcast from Wintrust Arena in Chicago, home of the Chicago Sky, on Friday, July 24 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN, Disney+ and the ESPN App). The events are a prelude to the 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game, which will be played on Saturday, July 25 at United Center in Chicago (8:30 p.m. ET on ABC, Disney+ and the ESPN App).
The Kia WNBA Shooting Stars will feature four teams representing the WNBA’s Minnesota, Seattle, Washington and Dallas/Detroit markets. The Dallas/Detroit team celebrates that franchise&#8217;s history, as today&#8217;s Dallas Wings trace their roots to the Detroit Shock before relocating to Tulsa and ultimately Dallas. Together, the four teams bring together WNBA legends, MVPs and champions with current stars, rising stars and the next generation of talent in a celebration of the league&#8217;s past, present and future.
Joining the WNBA legends are 2026 WNBA All-Stars Jessica Shepard of the Wings and Courtney Williams of the Minnesota Lynx, along with 2022 All-Rookie Team selection Shakira Austin of the Washington Mystics and standout 2026 rookie Flau’jae Johnson of the Seattle Storm. Williams will team with Brunson to represent Minnesota, Johnson joins Jackson representing Seattle, Austin pairs with Delle Donne for Washington, and Shepard teams with Nolan to celebrate the Detroit/Dallas franchise legacy.
Each team will also include a standout high school player from Nike EYBL, bringing together three generations of women&#8217;s basketball talent in one competition. The Nike EYBL participants are Jezelle &#8220;GG&#8221; Banks, Ryan Carter, Tatianna Griffin and Morghan Reckley. Honorary General Managers for the 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game, Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon, will serve as designated passers, with Cooper distributing the ball to two teams and Weatherspoon passing it to the other two teams.
The Kia WNBA Shooting Stars is a two-round, timed shooting competition in which teams have 70 seconds to score as many points as possible from seven shooting locations around the court. The competition features shots ranging from a layup to a long-range three-pointer, with the two teams posting the highest scores in the opening round advancing to the championship round.

Wembanyama, who led the San Antonio Spurs to the 2026 NBA Finals, graces the “Standard Edition” cover. The 22-year-old Wembanyama is already considered one of the game’s most dominant players.
He was the Most Valuable Player of the 2026 Western Conference Finals and finished third in Kia MVP voting behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokić. He was also the Kia Defensive Player of the Year and posted 25 points and 11.5 rebounds per game as San Antonio went 62-20.

Clark, a star for the Indiana Fever, will be on the “Deluxe Edition” cover and continues the NBA 2K trend of featuring a WNBA player on one of their covers. highlight the six-player field set to participate in the State Farm® WNBA 3-Point Contest as part of AT&amp;T 
WNBA All-Star 2026.
The State Farm WNBA 3-Point Contest and the Kia WNBA Shooting Stars event will be broadcast from 
Wintrust Arena in Chicago, home of the Chicago Sky, on Friday, July 24 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN, Disney+ and the 
ESPN App). The events are a prelude to the 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game, which will be played on 
Saturday, July 25 at United Center in Chicago (8:30 p.m. ET on ABC, Disney+ and the ESPN App).
Marking the first time that State Farm is serving as the title partner of the WNBA’s 3 Point Contest, the event 
will feature custom integrations such as the State Farm “From the Logo” shots identified by the iconic oval 
State Farm logos.
Howard, who participated in the event as a rookie in 2022, Mabrey, who took part in the 2024 contest, and Fudd 
are joined in the field by Bridget Carleton of the Portland Fire, Natisha Hiedeman of the Seattle Storm, and 
Janelle Salaün of the Golden State Valkyries. Fudd, Carleton, Hiedeman, and Salaün are each making their 
debut in the State Farm® WNBA 3-Point Contest.
Entering play on July 21, all six participants rank among the league’s most productive shooters from behind the 
arc this season. Mabrey leads all players with 82 made three-point shots, followed next by Howard (79). Salaün 
ranks fifth with 67 made threes; Carlton is sixth (65); Hiedeman ranks tied for seventh (57), and Fudd is tied for 
tenth place (50).
The State Farm WNBA 3-Point Contest participants will compete in a two-round, timed competition with ball 
racks positioned at five main shooting locations around the three-point arc. Four of the racks contain four 
official WNBA game balls worth one point each and – in a nod to the league’s original orange-and-oatmeal- 
colored game ball – one oatmeal-colored “money” ball worth two points. The fifth rack will be a special “all 
money ball” rack containing five oatmeal-colored “money” balls with each made basket worth two points; each 
competitor will choose their preferred spot for the “all money ball” rack to be located from among the five 
shooting locations.
In addition, two ball pedestals will be positioned at deep shot locations for “From the Logo” shots. Each 
pedestal will hold one black ball featuring blue and orange stars; shots made with this special “From the Logo” 
ball are each worth three points. For every shot made from the State Farm logo, the State Farm jingle will 
sound, and a donation will be made to Girls Who Code Inc.
The two players with the highest scores in the First Round will advance to the Championship Round.

Welcome to All-Star week.
This weekend, the league’s annual celebration of the game and its stars takes over Chicago with Friday&#8217;s State Farm 3-Point Contest and Kia Shooting Stars at Wintrust Arena, followed by Saturday’s All-Star Game at the United Center.
Before 22 of the league’s top players head to the Windy City for this weekend’s festivities, let’s take our weekly snapshot of the league and see how the teams stack up.

The Lynx enter All-Star week with the third-longest active win streak at five consecutive victories. The two teams with longer streaks are biting at Minnesota’s heels in the standings, and these rankings (see our next two teams), but the Lynx have been able to keep them at bay — at least for now. The Lynx will be well represented in Chicago, with Olivia Miles and Courtney Williams playing for Team Spoon (coached by Cheryl Reeve), while Natasha Howard will represent Team Coop.

The Valkyries maintain their title as “hottest team in the league” as they extended their franchise-record win streak to nine in a row on Saturday. Golden State is a scorching 13-2 over their past 15 games, dating back to June 9. That is the best record in the league during that span. However, their two matchups with the Lynx (both losses by a combined total of nine points) came before this hot streak got started. Gabby Williams is the only member of the Valkyries on an All-Star roster, as the versatile forward will represent Team Coop.

After their Thursday game against New York was postponed, the Wings returned to the court for the first time in a week on Sunday. The time off did not slow their momentum as they secured their sixth straight victory, marking the franchise’s longest win streak in the Dallas era (since 2016). Dallas can match the all-time franchise record (eight games, set by Detroit in 2003 and Tulsa in 2015) if it can keep it alive until the All-Star break. A key question ahead of Monday’s rescheduled game against the Liberty will be the availability of Paige Bueckers, who left Sunday’s game after a collision with Nneka Ogwumike. Bueckers is also headed to Chicago as a member of Team Coop, while her Wings teammate Jessica Shepard will be on the opposing Team Spoon.

It’s tough to drop the Aces two spots in the rankings when they didn’t play a game all week, but with Golden State and Dallas on fire right now, the idle Aces were leapfrogged by both teams. This week, Las Vegas visits Toronto and Washington, before Jackie Young, A’ja Wilson, and coach Becky Hammon head to Chicago. As the coach of Team Coop, Hammon will now endure the daunting task that the WNBA’s other 14 coaches face throughout the season — trying to stop A’ja Wilson, who is starting for Team Spoon.

Before she heads to Chicago to appear in her second WNBA All-Star Game, Caitlin Clark made a bit of history Friday night during Indiana’s win over Seattle. She erupted for 45 points, 10 assists, six 3-pointers, four steals, and two blocks in just 29 minutes. Clark is the only player in WNBA or NBA history to record 40+ points and 10+ assists in a game with under 30 minutes of action. Clark and the Fever have won four of their last five games (and are 7-3 in their last 10), helping them hold a top-five position. Similar to Dallas with Paige Bueckers, Atlanta earned a victory on Sunday (93-91 over Chicago) but saw an All-Star leave the court and not return. Angel Reese exited the game with a left leg injury after just 20 minutes. Despite losing her, the Dream prevailed behind Allisha Gray’s 29 points and Jordin Canada’s buzzer-beating layup, pushing their win streak to three games. This weekend, assuming Reese is healthy, she will represent Team Coop and face Dream teammates Gray and Rhyne Howard, both of whom are on Team Spoon.

On June 30, the Liberty became the first team in WNBA history to win the Commissioner’s Cup twice in the competition’s six-year history. However, the Liberty went 1-4 in the five games leading up to that Championship Game win, and have gone 1-4 in the five games since. That 2-8 stretch has dropped New York from a tie for second place in the league to seventh place (just a half-game ahead of eighth). The Liberty will look to get back on track this week at Dallas and at home against Chicago before Breanna Stewart (Team Coop) and Jonquel Jones (Team Spoon) face each other in the All-Star Game.

After picking up four wins in a five-game stretch to move two games above .500, the Mystics dropped two straight last week to Portland and Golden State. Washington will try to avoid going into the break on a four-game skid as the Mystics face the Valkyries and Aces to close out their pre-All-Star break schedule. Similar to other teams featuring multiple All-Stars, the Washington duo of Sonia Citron (Team Coop) and Kiki Iriafen (Team Spoon) will go head-to-head as the two sophomores return to the All-Star Game for the second straight year.

Throughout July, Portland has traded wins and losses over six games. The Fire will try to continue that bounce-back trend entering their final game before the All-Star break. Coming off a 101-93 loss to the Lynx, they will look to rebound and cool down the blazing Dallas Wings on Wednesday. After playing eight of their last nine games on the road, the Fire will open a stretch of six home contests in a seven-game span. So far this season, Portland is 6-6 at home compared to just 5-9 on the road.

The Tempo have gone just 1-6 since Marina Mabrey’s record-tying 53-point performance on June 25. During that seven-game stretch, Toronto has allowed a league-high 92.9 points per game, while only scoring 81.9 per game (11th in the league). Before Mabrey heads to Chicago as an All-Star for Team Coop, she and the Tempo will look to get back on track with a matchup against the defending champs on Monday.

This past week, the Sky picked up wins over Seattle and Los Angeles before dropping a heartbreaker to Atlanta on Sunday thanks to Jordin Canada’s buzzer-beating layup. Speaking of game-winning heroics, the Sky will face Sabrina Ionescu and the Liberty in their final matchup before the All-Star break. Last month, Ionescu sank a game-winning layup against the Sky in their first meeting of the season. Can the Sky avenge that loss on the road?

On June 24, the Sparks announced that All-Star guard Kelsey Plum would be sidelined for at least four weeks due to a lower leg injury. How important has Plum been for L.A. this season? The Sparks are 7-5 in the 12 games that Plum has played. They are just 3-10 without her. L.A. hosts the Mercury in its final game before the break. As for the All-Star Game, Plum (Team Coop) and Nneka Ogwumike (Team Spoon) will go head-to-head in Chicago (assuming both players are healthy).

On Sunday, DeWanna Bonner scored a season-high 21 points to help the Mercury defeat the Sun and snap a five-game skid. Keep an eye on Bonner in the coming weeks as she approaches some all-time milestones. She is four games away from passing Diana Taurasi for the second-most games played in WNBA history. Additionally, she needs just four rebounds to pass Rebekah Brunson for a spot in the all-time top five, and sits only nine 3-pointers shy of becoming the ninth player to reach 700 career triples. Bonner will look to add to her career totals when the Mercury visit the Sparks on Wednesday.

Connecticut comes out of the break with three more road games: at Washington, at Indiana, and at Chicago.

The Storm are one of three teams — along with New York and Los Angeles — tied for the league&#8217;s longest active losing streak at four consecutive games. In fact, after opening the season 3-4 through seven games, the Storm have gone just 3-14 in the 17 games since. A bright spot for the Storm is second-year center Dominique Malonga, earning her first All-Star nod. She will head to Chicago as part of Team Coop.

NEW YORK, July 18, 2026 – Toronto Tempo Head Coach Sandy Brondello has been suspended without pay for one game for an inappropriate comment she made regarding Angel Reese of the Atlanta Dream during the Tempo’s 111-92 loss to the Dream yesterday in Toronto.
Brondello will serve her suspension Monday when the Tempo host the Las Vegas Aces.
