WNBA Best Bets, Predictions for August 7-8 on DraftKings Sportsbook

Hunter Skoczylas of DraftKings Network

The 2026-27 WNBA regular season is moving rather quickly, and the top teams have separated themselves from the rest of the league. Friday’s WNBA slate features three of the top eight teams, highlighted by a late-night 9:30 p.m. ET tip between the third-place Golden State Valkyries and fifth-place Dallas Wings. Saturday’s slate certainly offers a different vibe with poorer teams in action, but it is carried by an elite matchup between the first-place Minnesota Lynx and second-place Las Vegas Aces at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Below, I’ll go over the WNBA odds for Friday and Saturday’s games and provide my best bets on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Friday, August 7

CON Sun vs. PHO Mercury (7:30 p.m. ET) –– PHO -6.5, O/U 174.5

WAS Mystics vs. ATL Dream (7:30 p.m. ET) –– ATL -6.5, O/U 171.5

DAL Wings vs. GS Valkyries (9:30 p.m. ET) –– DAL -1.5, O/U 161.5

Best Bets:

Angel Reese Double-Double (-165)

Reese leads the WNBA in double-doubles with 21, and she has notched one in each of her last four outings. On Friday night, she’ll face a Mystics team that profiles as a tough matchup on paper, but the 24-year-old has found success in previous meetings this season. Reese recorded a double-double in both of her matchups against Washington this season, and she’s built to keep up with Shakira Austin on the boards. It also helps that both of these teams draw a lot of fouls, which should lead to some easier opportunities for Reese to reach double-digit points, too.

Jessica Shepard OVER 16.5 Rebounds + Assists (-120)

Coincidentally, I ended up targeting the leaders in double-doubles for Friday’s games, with Shepard recording only one less double-double than Reese. However, I think there’s more value here with Shepard’s Rebounds + Assists line, considering she has cleared this line in 19-of-31 games this season, good for a 61% hit rate. While Golden State boasts a league-best 101.7 defensive rating, I’d expect the team to be extra focused on Paige Bueckers, which should lead to Shepard operating as a playmaker. Other centers around the league, such as Reese, Austin and Alyssa Thomas, have found success in this department against the Valkyries, and there’s no reason to assume the do-it-all play style of Shepard won’t translate well on Friday night.

Saturday, August 8

MIN Lynx vs. LV Aces (1:00 p.m. ET) –– MIN -5.5, O/U 186.5

CHI Sky vs. IND Fever (3:30 p.m. ET) –– IND -6.5, O/U 194.5

POR Fire vs. SEA Storm (8:30 p.m. ET) –– POR -1.5, O/U 181.5

Best Bets:

Olivia Miles OVER 19.5 Points (-105)

Miles has been lighting up the league as a rookie, and it’d be foolish to fade her points prop, set at O/U 19.5, which is a mark that she has eclipsed in 12 of her past 20 outings. Even with Napheesa Collier back in the lineup, Miles still sports a 27.0% usage rate, while averaging 15.4 FGA per game. The Aces rank sixth in the WNBA in defensive rating and won’t be an easy matchup by any means, but the continued focus on Collier should open things up even more for Miles to cook opposing defenders. The 23-year-old has scored 23+ points in three of five games since Collier returned to the lineup, and Las Vegas has allowed some opposing guards to explode for big scoring nights this season.

Aliyah Boston OVER 9.5 Rebounds (+110)

This is a nice plus-money play for Boston, who dominated the Sky in her last meeting on June 11, totaling 34 points and 12 rebounds. Boston has averaged 8.4 rebounds per game this season, and she has grabbed 10+ rebounds in eight of 13 road outings. Chicago profiles as an elite matchup for the 2023 1st overall pick, considering it has allowed a league-high 37.3 rebounds per game. With Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell each averaging over 14 FGA per game this season, Boston should continue to see easy rebounding opportunities on Saturday afternoon.
