2026 WNBA Power Rankings: Week 6
For the past two weeks, we’ve presented the Power Rankings through the lens of the Commissioner’s Cup and the race to the Championship Game, which is set with the Liberty hosting the Aces on June 30 (7 p.m. ET on Prime Video).
Now, we return to the bigger picture, focusing on the entire regular season, which is already more than one-third complete with all teams having played at least 15 games.
Let’s take a look at how the teams stack up this deep into the season and what we’ve learned about each squad along the way.
Note: All stats and records are through games played Sunday, June 21.
1. Minnesota Lynx (13-4) ⬆️
- Last Week: 3
- This Week: Wed. at WAS, Sun. at DAL
![]()
While the Lynx did not return to the Commissioner’s Cup Championship Game for a third straight year, they do return to the top of this week’s Power Rankings. The resume is undeniable — the Lynx lead the WNBA in offensive (112.6), defensive (98.2) and net rating (14.4) and are doing so without All-WNBA star Napheesa Collier, who continues to work her way back from offseason surgery on both ankles. Led by four-time Coach of the Year Cheryl Reeve, the Lynx have a chance to win every night, with each of their four losses on the season having been by seven points or less.
2. Las Vegas Aces (12-4) ↔️
- Last Week: 2
- This Week: Tue. vs. NYL, Thur. vs. DAL, Sun. at CHI
Conversely, the Aces have matched their big wins by being on the wrong end of a pair of 30+ point losses so far this season, including a 33-point defeat at the hands of the Wings last week to snap the six-game win streak that sent Las Vegas to the Cup final. The Aces bounced back from that blowout loss with back-to-back wins over the Mercury and Valkyries behind new league-leading scorer A’ja Wilson (25.7 ppg).
3. Atlanta Dream (11-4) ⬆️
- Last Week: 4
- This Week: Mon. vs. TOR, Wed. at GSV, Fri. at GSV, Sat. at SEA
After sweeping a home-and-home series with the Fever, the Dream enter this week riding their first three-game win streak of the season. In Saturday’s 113-96 win, the Dream set a franchise record for points in a game with four of their five starters scoring at least 18 points. Highlighting the historic night, Angel Reese etched her name in the WNBA record books as the fastest player to collect 1,000 career rebounds. She reached the milestone in just 79 games — 10 fewer than any player in league history.

4. New York Liberty (11-6) ⬇️
- Last Week: 1
- This Week: Tue. at LVA, Thur. at SEA, Sun. at GSV
New York opened the week with a one-point win over Chicago to complete a perfect 6-0 run through Commissioner’s Cup play. However, they followed that unblemished Cup mark with back-to-back losses to Washington (by three points) and Los Angeles (by one point thanks to Nneka Ogwumike’s buzzer-beater). The Liberty are now 1-3 in games decided by three points or less this season. Sunday’s game in L.A. was the first of four straight road games for New York before they return home to host the Cup Championship Game.
5. Golden State Valkyries (10-7) ⬆️
- Last Week: 6
- This Week: Wed. vs. ATL, Fri. vs. ATL, Sun. vs. NYL
So far this season, the Valkyries are a combined 0-5 when facing the Liberty (0-3) and Lynx (0-2) — the teams with the top two records in the league — and 10-2 against everyone else. How will Golden State fare against the team with the third-best record in the WNBA? We’ll find out as three of the Valkyries’ next four games will be against Atlanta, beginning with a pair of home games on Wednesday and Friday.
6. Dallas Wings (10-6) ⬇️
- Last Week: 5
- This Week: Mon. at SEA, Thur. at LVA, Sun. vs. MIN
Dallas has traded wins and losses over its past seven games, beginning on June 5. After edging out the Sky on Saturday, the Wings will go for back-to-back wins on Monday when they visit the Storm. Monday’s matchup tips off a stretch of six road games in a seven-game span for Dallas, which is 4-4 on the road so far this season. The only home game during that time comes against league-leading Minnesota on Sunday.
7. Indiana Fever (9-7) ↔️
- Last Week: 7
- This Week: Mon. vs. PHX, Wed. vs. PHX, Sat. vs. LAS
Playing at the league’s fastest pace (83.32 possessions per 40 minutes), the Fever are bound to wind up in some high-scoring games. So far this season, Indiana has been part of four games in which both teams scored 100 or more points (only three other such games have occurred league-wide). The Fever are just 1-3 in those games, including a 108-101 loss to Atlanta this past week in the first of a two-game set swept by the Dream. This week, the Fever have a three-game homestand as they welcome Phoenix (twice) and Los Angeles, looking to improve on their 6-3 home record.
8. Los Angeles Sparks (8-8) ↔️
- Last Week: 8
- This Week: Thur. at TOR, Sat. at IND
On Sunday, the WNBA celebrated the 30th anniversary of the league’s inaugural game with the same matchup that started it all – New York Liberty at Los Angeles Sparks. With legends from both teams in the building – including Lisa Leslie and Kym Hampton recreating their ceremonial opening tip – the Sparks fell behind by 17 points before rallying all the way back. Down by two with under five seconds to play, Erica Wheeler found Nneka Ogwumike open beyond the arc, who splashed the buzzer-beating 3-pointer for the Sparks’ win. It was L.A.’s only victory of the week, but it was a memorable one.
9. Washington Mystics (8-7) ⬆️
- Last Week: 11
- This Week: Wed. vs. MIN, Fri. at CON, Sun. vs. POR
![]()
All win streaks are important, but some are more impressive than others. Washington closing out a four-game road trip with consecutive wins in New York and Minnesota — two of the top four teams in the league — easily qualifies as impressive, as do Kiki Iriafen’s clutch buckets in both contests. The Mystics have won four of their last five and will look to keep rolling when they run it back against league-leading Minnesota on Wednesday.
10. Toronto Tempo (8-8) ⬇️
- Last Week: 9
- This Week: Mon. at ATL, Thur. vs. LAS, Sat. vs. PHX
After dropping their third straight game on Tuesday at Indiana, Marina Mabrey and the Tempo bounced back in a major way by defeating the Sun on Friday in Connecticut. Mabrey, who played 51 games with the Sun over the past two seasons, erupted for a career-best 37 points while breaking the WNBA’s single-game record with nine 3-pointers made in the win. The Tempo open the week in Atlanta in their final road game before a massive nine-game homestand that runs until the All-Star break.
11. Portland Fire (8-9) ⬇️
- Last Week: 10
- This Week: Wed. at CHI, Fri. at CHI, Sun. at WAS
While one expansion team (Toronto) is preparing for a nine-game homestand, the other (Portland) is set to play eight of its next nine games on the road, starting this week in Chicago and Washington. So far this season, Portland is 6-5 at home, but only 2-4 outside of the Rose City. Can the Fire find their way on the road to stay in the middle of the pack in the standings?
12. Phoenix Mercury (5-12) ↔️
- Last Week: 12
- This Week: Mon. at IND, Wed. at IND, Sat. at TOR
On Saturday, the Mercury defeated the Storm 93-73 to snap a four-game losing streak, and did so behind a trio of double-doubles: Valeriane Ayayi (18 pts, 10 reb), Natasha Mack (10 pts, 10 reb) and Noemie Brochant (16 pts, 10 ast). Can the Mercury build on that momentum as they hit the road to face the Fever (twice) and the Tempo this week?

13. Chicago Sky (4-11) ↔️
- Last Week: 13
- This Week: Mon. at CON, Wed. vs. POR, Fri. vs. POR, Sun. vs. LVA
The Sky have dropped five straight and 10 of their last 11 games, but a look at their recent games shows that a breakthrough may be coming soon. In their last three games, the Sky fell in overtime to the Fever before consecutive one-point losses to the Liberty and Wings to close the week. Chicago’s first chance to snap this current five-game skid is against the same Connecticut team that the Sky beat on June 5 to snap the previous five-game skid.
14. Connecticut Sun (2-15) ⬆️
- Last Week: 15
- This Week: Mon. vs. CHI, Fri. vs. WAS
![]()
While the losses continue to mount for the Sun, who have dropped seven straight and 10 of their last 11 games, there is a positive sign in their recent results: only one of those losses came by double digits. An average of 5.8 points decided the rest. This week, the Sun will seek their breakthrough at home against Chicago (4-11) and Washington (8-7), who sport a combined 12-18 record.
15. Seattle Storm (3-14) ⬇️
- Last Week: 14
- This Week: Mon. vs. DAL, Thur. vs. NYL, Sat. vs. ATL
With losses to Portland and Phoenix last week, the Seattle Storm have dropped 10 straight games, matching the franchise’s longest losing streak. Ending that skid will be a challenge this week as the Storm host a trio of teams in Dallas (10-6), New York (11-6), and Atlanta (11-4) that have a combined 32-16 (.667) record.
