It has been an eventful few weeks for Azura Stevens. The former University of Connecticut standout went from competing in the NCAA Final Four, to being drafted sixth overall by the Dallas Wings, and received well-wishes from her favorite NBA player, Golden State&#8217;s Kevin Durant, in the process. 
On Sunday, she watched Durant play against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the first-round series at AT&amp;T Center, and then met him for the first time after the game.

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Mercury today introduced a new modernized brand look with redesigned logos and wordmarks that celebrate the legacy of the past and embrace the future – ushering in the next era of Mercury basketball with the team’s first-ever rebrand. To celebrate the launch, the Mercury will host a Merc Merch Swap, a first-of-its-kind community giveback initiative that offers fans an opportunity to trade in merchandise for a Mercury T-Shirt with the new logo.“The new branding represents the Mercury’s championship legacy, devoted fanbase and the new era that began with a record-breaking season and memorable Finals run,” said Phoenix Mercury and Phoenix Suns Chief Executive Officer Josh Bartelstein. “While our logos have been reimagined, the Mercury’s identity remains the same – our organization’s commitment to the community and the grit and joy of our team will continue to define Mercury basketball.”The primary logo is an evolution of the iconic Mercury “M,” positioned at an angle of 19.97 degrees, a reference to the Mercury’s inaugural season. The sharp right corner of the “M” serves as a nod to the original geometric rings, symbolizing an arrow to the future and forward momentum of the franchise.The global logo features the primary emblem at the center, with four rings positioned behind it, mirroring the planetary rings on the team’s original design. The “M” divides the four rings into eight individual lines that symbolize the Mercury’s status as one of the eight original WNBA franchises.For the first time ever, the Mercury has added a secondary logo. – Minnesota Lynx Receive Second Pick, Seattle Storm to Select Third, 
Washington Mystics will Choose Fourth, and Chicago Sky Rounds out Top Five Picks –
NEW YORK, Nov. 23, 2025 – The Dallas Wings today won the 2026 WNBA Draft Lottery and will have the first overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft to be held on Monday, April 13, 2026.
The results of the 25th annual Lottery were revealed by WNBA Head of League Operations Bethany Donaphin during the 30-minute, WNBA Draft Lottery Special on ESPN. following its presentation of the TCU vs. North Carolina State women’s basketball game. This marks the 14th consecutive year that ESPN networks has presented the WNBA Draft Lottery.
Dallas, which entered the Lottery with the most chances to win the top pick (420 out of 1,000), won the WNBA Draft Lottery for the second consecutive year. In November 2024, the Wings won the top pick for the first time in team history after participating in the Lottery 11 previous times. The franchise used that No. 1 overall pick to select Paige Bueckers, who went on to be voted as a starter in the AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game and as the Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year.
This also marks the fifth time in the history of the WNBA Draft Lottery that the results matched the order of chances held by the Lottery teams. The prior instances were ahead of the 2009, 2015, 2016, and 2018 WNBA drafts.
The Minnesota Lynx, which had the second-most chances to win the top pick (261), will have the second selection. The Seattle Storm will select third after having the third-most chances to land the top pick (167).
The fourth selection belongs to the Washington Mystics, which had 97 chances to receive the first pick. The Chicago Sky, which had the fifth-most chances to garner the top pick (55), rounds out the top five.
Lottery odds were based on the two-year (2024 and 2025) cumulative records of the five teams that did not make the playoffs in the most recent season. With a cumulative record of 19-65, the Wings had the most assigned combinations (420 out of 1,000) and were guaranteed at least the third pick.
The order of selection for the remainder of the first round as well as the second and third rounds will be announced at a later date.
A representative from the accounting firm of Ernst &amp; Young was in attendance to oversee the Lottery process.

14 lottery balls numbered 1 through 14 are mixed into a lottery machine. Four lottery balls are drawn to create a four-number combination. One qualifying team holds that four-number combination and will receive the No. 1 pick. This process repeats to determine the No. 2 pick.   
The No. 3 pick will be awarded to the remaining draft lottery team with the worst cumulative record over the last two WNBA seasons. The No. 4 pick will be awarded to the remaining draft lottery team with the next-worst cumulative record over the last two WNBA seasons.

R.I.S.E is a youth-focused program designed to educate, inspire, and empower young people to become champions of equity, justice, and positive change in their communities. • Soar With Her Event: On July 2, Hayes and her Valkyries teammates participated in the “Soar with Her: Mentorship Program,” presented by United Airlines, a transformative initiative dedicated to empowering girls from Youth UpRising, a local non-profit that provides services and support for Bay Area youth. • Ascending Star Summit presented by Rakuten: Hayes participated in a community event on Aug. 26 with the team and Rakuten designed to empower early career-women and provide leadership development and career advancement resources. • Golden State Valkyries Fashion Show presented by Sephora: On Aug. 28, alongside her Valkyries teammates, Hayes celebrated the intersection of the WNBA and fashion and amplifying the voices and visibility of women in sports by showcasing dynamic collaborations. In recognition of Hayes’ commitment to the community, the WNBA will donate $20,000 to Changing Faces Inc., a non-profit selected by Hayes that enriches the lives of youth by focusing on transitional programs, substance abuse treatment, and long-term stability.

The Minnesota Lynx have established themselves as one of the most efficient passing teams in WNBA history. In the 2025 season, the Lynx averaged 23.3 assists per game, ranking third all-time in single-season assist averages. This follows their 2024 season where they averaged 23.0 assists per game.
With these back-to-back seasons, the Lynx now account for two of the four instances in league history where a team averaged 23+ assists per game.

With a 2025 campaign highlighted by a record-breaking eight triple-double performances, Alyssa Thomas set the record for most total assists in a regular season (357) over 39 games. Her 9.15 APG led the league and marked the second-highest regular season APG average in WNBA history.
Thomas made history by becoming the first player to record three seasons with 300+ assists.
