Peters Expecting Friends From South Bend, Family In Crowd For Game 3

INDIANAPOLIS – Lynx forward Devereaux Peters stepped up when called upon in Minnesota’s Game 2 victory over the Indiana Fever. She came in early in the first half and scored six quick points.
According to Peters, Indiana simply wasn’t guarding her, so she did what she knows she can do: knock down shots.
Now, as the series shifts to Indiana, she’ll be playing in a state where she’s done her fair share of knocking down shots. Peters player her college ball at Notre Dame from 2007 to 2011.
The former Big East Defensive Player of the Year says she expects a ton of familiar faces to be in the Bankers Life Fieldhouse crowd when Game 3 tips Friday night.
“Everybody’s coming out,” Peters said. “I’m actually really excited! It actually worked out where this weekend a lot of my friends are in town at Notre Dame this weekend, so a lot of them are coming to the game. Obviously, all of the coaches and Notre Dame fans, with me and Natalie [Achonwa] both playing, it’s going to be huge. I’m excited.”
To make the weekend even more special, Peters celebrated her 26th birthday Thursday. So, to recap: big Game 2 performance on Tuesday in Minnesota, 26th birthday on Thursday, and a game in front of family and friends in her old stomping grounds on Friday?
How’s that for a birthday week?
