Minnesota Lynx Make History by Going Undefeated in May
Another season, another scorching hot start for the three-time champion Minnesota Lynx.
With their 80-66 win over San Antonio on Sunday, Maya Moore and the Lynx improved to 6-0 on the season. Minnesota has now won 23 straight games in the month of May dating back to 2012.

Sunday’s win ties Minnesota with the Los Angeles Sparks (2000-02) for the all-time record of consecutive wins in a month across seasons. The Sparks won 23 straight in the month of July during the heart of the Lisa Leslie era. That team also holds the all-time record for victories in a single month (14 in July 2000).
Lindsay Whalen has a simple explanation for the Lynx’s early-season success:
Why do the #Lynx have success in May? @Lindsay_13 gave a great explanation:
"It's my birthday month. It's my birthday gift from the team."

Minnesota won’t have a chance to break the Sparks’ record until 2018, as the club’s next game is June 1 against Seattle. Regardless, the Lynx are playing like an early favorite to hoist the championship trophy this fall.
The Storm, sitting right behind them with a 4-1 record, could be the Lynx’s toughest test yet.
