Women's Basketball Pioneers Make History Together

While 2015 was a year that was very much characterized by great feats by women in sports — think Becky Hammon, the U.S. Women’s Soccer team, Serena Williams, among others — 2016 is picking up where 2015 left off with a historic night in Phoenix as the Hornets faced the Suns.
The history was not made on the court, but in the booth. Wednesday’s meeting between Phoenix and Charlotte marked the first time in NBA history that two female analysts worked the same game.
Ann Meyers Drysdale, a legendary player as well as Vice President of the Phoenix Suns & Mercury, is an analyst for the Suns, while Stephanie Ready, who also served as a trailblazer earlier this year by becoming the first full-time female NBA game analyst for a team’s local broadcast, is an analyst for the Hornets.
