CAREER: Native of Australia and WNBL pro able to enter 2021 WNBA Draft as she turns 20 this calendar year. Daughter of Aussie legend Shane Heal, a feisty and accomplished 3-point shooter, has been compared to her dad by Sandy Bronello (Phx. Mercury and Australia Nat’l Team coach): “She’s got a bit of Shane in her, which is a positive thing in you don’t back down” … Of playing in the WNBA and turning down offers to play collegiately in U.S. or as pro in Europe, said it’d be “four years of playing against other kids versus playing against pros. I’d rather be playing against the best and this is the WNBA pathway for me.” … Debuted in WNBA at age 14 for the Queensland Stars in 2015-16 on a team with WNBAers Erin Phillips, Rebecca Allen and Rachel Jarry. Later WNBL experience included 2020-21 with Townsville Fire, 2019-20 WNBL’s Bendigo Spirt, and 2018-19 with Perth Lynx. Playing for Bendigo against former team Perth, became first 18-year-old since Lauren Jackson to score 30 points in a WNBL game ... Also played with NBL 1’s Hobart Chargers and played semi-pro ball under her father for Sutherland Sharks of the Basketball NSW … PERS: Father, Shane, played with NBA’s T-Wolves and Spurs and his four Olympics for Australia included memorable 1996 dust-ups and trash-talking episodes with NBA/USAB legends Charles Barkley, Gary Payton.
