Grace Berger

Berger handled a starting role for a 13th consecutive game Thursday but saw a decrease in playing time since the Wings secured a comfortable victory to close out the year. The 26-year-old spent the first two years of her career in Indiana, but she was waived in February. She joined the Lynx for training camp before being let go ahead of the regular season. She made one appearance for Los Angeles in mid-June but found her footing with the Wings over the second half of the season, averaging 3.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks in 22.3 minutes per game over 18 appearances (13 starts). She'll be a reserved free agent during the offseason, and it seems possible that the Wings will express interest in bringing her back for 2026.

Berger continues to log heavy minutes for the shorthanded Wings, but her production has left a lot to be desired. For the season, Berger holds averages of 3.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 22.0 minutes per contest.

Berger was initially slated to come off the bench, but she'll join the starting lineup after Paige Bueckers (illness) was scratched. Berger logged a season-high 11 points in 27 minutes in Dallas' previous game.

Berger had started seven consecutive games but averaged just 3.6 points on 27.3 percent shooting from the field during that stretch. Aziaha James will take Berger's spot in the first unit. Still, expect Berger to play a significant role off the bench against Connecticut.

Berger set a new career high with seven assists, while tying a new high with seven rebounds. The blocks also marked a new career best, and she had never had more than one in a single game. She is averaging 4.0 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in the past two appearances.
