Marina Mabrey

Mabrey had an inconsistent finish to the regular season, but she ended on a high note with a team-best scoring total during Wednesday's loss to Atlanta. The 28-year-old's production remained steady during her first full season in Connecticut, as she averaged 14.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 31.5 minutes per game over 35 appearances. Mabrey will be an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, and even though she appeared to iron things out after requesting a trade ahead of the 2025 campaign, she may seek out other opportunities in 2026.

Mabrey was one of three players on her squad to score in double figures. She led the way while shooting 50 percent from the floor and recording a game-high total in the steals category (tied with Alyssa Thomas).

Mabrey had scored at least 12 points in each of her last five appearances before struggling mightily from the floor Wednesday. It was her first time going scoreless since July 11, 2021, in a matchup against the Aces while still a member of the Wings.

Mabrey tied the team high in points but struggled from three-point range. The 28-year-old guard has now shot just 26.2 percent from downtown over her last 10 appearances. Over 30 regular-season games, she has shot 28.0 percent from three-point range, marking her lowest efficiency since her rookie campaign in 2019. Still, the Notre Dame product's 14 points marked her fourth consecutive outing with double-digit points, and her seventh such performance in that 10-game span.

Leila Lacan led the way for Connecticut with a 22-point performance, but Mabrey was able to deliver a solid line as well -- even if her shot wasn't falling with the same consistency as it often does. Mabrey seems to have left her mini slump behind. She's scored at least 16 points in each of her last three contests, but the lack of efficiency continues to plague her. The star guard has made only 36.1 percent of her shots from the field since the beginning of August.
