About Brene

A 2016 second-round draft pick who has a pedigree for quickness and getting the ball to the rim, Moseley was the Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year for conference champion Maryland…Moseley helped the Terrapins to the Big Ten Tournament championship on the floor at Bankers Life Fieldhouse where she will begin her pro career…she joins a Fever roster that already includes former Terrapins Marissa Coleman (2006-09) and Lynetta Kizer (2009-12)…she earned the nickname “Bones” as a kid, due to her wiry structure.

COLLEGE
Moseley closed her college career as one of five finalists for 2016 Lieberman Award as the nation’s top point guard…in her career, she helped the Terps to the 2012 ACC title, 2012 Elite Eight, 2013 Sweet Sixteen, 2015 & 2016 Big Ten regular season and tournament titles, and back-to-back Final Fours in 2014 and ’15 while playing in more games than all but three UM players (142)…she finished her career ranked 8th on UM’s career assists chart (443).

2015-16: Moseley was named the Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year, to the coaches’ All-Big Ten Second Team, the media’s All-Big Ten Honorable Mention squad, and a Nancy Lieberman Award candidate…she averaged 11.6 points and 5.9 assists while helping Maryland to Big Ten regular season and tournament championships…she contributed three double-doubles and matched a career high with 26 points against Old Dominion, 11/26…she picked up her second career double-double with 13 points, 10 assists and 5 boards vs. Detroit, 11/20…collected a third career double-double with 10 points, 10 assists with 3 steals vs. Southern, 12/11, and went 8-16 from the field for 20 points with 10 assists for fourth career double-double vs. No. 9 Ohio State, 1/2…Moseley became the 32nd player in program history to reach 1,000 career points with 15 points and five assists in win over Northwestern in Big Ten Semifinals, 3/5…she added 16 points with 7 assists and 3 boards in NCAA Second Round vs. Washington, 3/21.

2014-15: Moseley averaged 5.6 points and 1.4 assists per game as a redshirt junior…she led her team with 18 points off three 3s in win at Northwestern to finish 18-0 in conference play, 3/1…in the Big Ten semifinals, she scored 15 points off the bench in Terps’ win over Northwestern, 3/7…she made two clutch free throws and had a steal in win over #6 Tennessee, 3/30, to send the Terps to back-to-back Final Fours…came in off the bench and added 12 points, four assists and four rebounds in Final Four game against top-ranked Connecticut, 4/5.

2013-14: As a redshirt sophomore, Moseley saw action in every game, making one start…she averaged 5.5 points and 2.5 assists per game…she made 8-of-8 at the line with key free throws down the stretch to seal a win at USF, 11/8, in her return from injury…she added seven points in 11 minutes in Terps’ NCAA First Round win over Army, 3/23.

2012-13: Moseley missed her true sophomore season after sustaining a torn left ACL in a team scrimmage on Oct. 21.

2011-12: As a freshman, “Bones” saw action in all 36 games while being named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and All-Academic Team…scored 17 points in her Terrapin debut vs. Loyola, 11/11, en route to averaging 6.9 points per game for the season…she scored 26 points vs. Towson, 11/16, recording the most points by a Terrapin freshman since Kristi Toliver dropped 28 on Utah in Elite Eight in 2006…named ACC Rookie of the Week, 11/21…scored 17 points, all in the second half, off 3-for-5 threes vs. Cal State Bakersfield, 11/26…scored 13 points off two threes and a pair of free throws in 19 minutes in Terps’ ACC Tournament win over Virginia, 3/2…received team’s Top Three-Point Shooter Award (32-of-79, 40%) and Academic Acheivement Award at annual banquet.

Born Nov. 25, 1993, Moseley is the daughter of Eugene and Beatrice Moseley…nickname is “Bones”…she has one sibling, Esheance…she attended Maryland due to campus proximity, a family atmosphere, academic support and player development…graduated in May 2015 and did post-graduate studies in English during her fifth year as a redshirt senior…prior to Maryland, she participated during four years at Paint Branch High School, but missed her senior campaign of action due to a torn right ACL during summer AAU play…she was named first team All-Met by The Washington Post as a junior…earned first team All-Gazette honors by Gazette newspapers in both her sophomore and junior seasons…led DC, Maryland and Virginia area in scoring with 26.2 points per game as a junior…team leader in three-point shooting, free throws, assists…averaged over 7.0 assists a game as a junior…led Paint Branch to back to back state championship games in her freshman and sophomore seasons…scored 17 points to win state title and finish undefeated season as a freshman…played AAU ball for D.C. Heat…she was a four-star recruit according to ESPN HoopGurlz, ranked the No. 70 player in her 2011 class and the No. 18 guard.
