A perimeter guard with length and raw skill, Jazmon Gwathmey has completed two WNBA seasons&#8230;she averaged 6.2 points off the bench in her first season with Indiana&#8230;the second pick of the second round in the 2016 WNBA Draft, Gwathmey was traded by Minnesota to San Antonio on draft night, and she proceeded to play in 22 games with the Stars as a rookie&#8230;she was traded to Indiana on May 9, just prior to the close of training camp in 2017&#8230;the 6-2 guard contributes size and shooting depth to the Fever backcourt.

2017: From her backcourt position on the perimeter, Gwathmey led the Fever with 22 blocked shots&#8230;she averaged 6.2 points and 2.0 rebounds during 17.1 minutes of playing time per game&#8230;she started seven games at the close of the season and contributed a season-high 16 points at Atlanta, 8/26&#8230;she posted season rebounding highs with seven against Atlanta, 6/15, and at New York, 8/8&#8230;she scored nine points, grabbed three boards and tied career highs with four assists, two steals and three blocks in a win over Minnesota, 8/6&#8230;she later increased the career high in steals (3) against the Lynx, 8/18.
2016: Gwathmey averaged 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists during 22 games with San Antonio&#8230;she made 10 starts for the Stars and shot 33 percent from 3-point range (9-of-27)&#8230;she entered the starting lineup following the Olympic Break and scored a season-high 16 points in her first start at Washington, 8/28, with 2-of-4 shooting from 3-point range&#8230;she logged a season-high five rebounds against Los Angeles, 9/1.

2015: In her first visit outside the United States, Gwathmey played in Canberra, Australia where she averaged 8.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists with the Canberra Capitals.
COLLEGE
The third James Madison player ever drafted in the WNBA (Tamera Young, Lauren Okafor), Gwathmey finished her collegiate career eighth all-time in JMU scoring with 1,555 career points, second all-time in JMU blocks with 173 and fourth in total games played by playing in 136 JMU contests&#8230;said JMU coach Kenny Brooks, “(Jazmon is) the most dominant player in this league I’ve seen, other than Elena Delle Donne”…the 2015-16 Colonial Athletic Conf. Player of Year finished JMU career ranked 2nd in program history in blocks, 7th in FGM, 8th in points&#8230;she started 120 games, tied for fourth-most in program history.
2015-16: The CAA Player of the Year, Gwathmey led James Madison to 2016 CAA Championship&#8230;she was named to All-CAA First Team and All-CAA Defensive Team, and won CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player for third consecutive year …she earned CAA player of the week on five different occasions, and became the 29th player in JMU history to reach 1,000 career points&#8230;she scored in double figures in 30 of 33 games played, and finished the season ranked 15th in the NCAA in blocks (46)&#8230;her 251 field goals made were the second-highest single-season total in James Madison history.
2014-15: The CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player for second consecutive year, Gwathmey was on the CAA All-Tournament Team and All-CAA Third Team&#8230;she recorded a double-double in the CAA Championship Game against Hofstra (17 points, 11 rebounds)&#8230;she scored a season-high 22 points against American, 11/20&#8230;she became the eighth player in school history to reach 100 blocks, and averaged 9.4 points per game as a junior.
2013-14: A member of the CAA All-Defensive Team, Gwathmey was the CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player as a sophomore&#8230;she ranked third on the team in offensive rebounds with 78&#8230;she registered season highs of 20 points and 14 rebounds in the CAA Championship Game against Delaware…her 56 blocks as a sophomore were the most of her college career, and second in JMU history for a single season&#8230;she averaged 10 points per game.
2012-13: The CAA All-Rookie standout led JMU in blocks (34) and finished third on the team in rebounds (199)&#8230;she ranked 9th in CAA in blocks and 14th in CAA in offensive rebounds&#8230;she scored a season high in points (17) against Towson, 2/21&#8230;she racked up a season-high 14 rebounds in an 11-point win over Towson, 3/15…she averaged 6.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Of Puerto Rican descent on her mother&#8217;s side of the family, Jazmon Gwathmey is the daughter of Iris Campos and William Gwathmey&#8230;she attended Liberty High School in Bealeton, Va., where she averaged 14.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.1 steals and 2.0 blocks in 47 career games..she was a sports and recreation management major at JMU&#8230;she is engaged to Emya Lee.
