It wasn’t easy, but the New York Liberty won their first playoff series since 2010 on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

In the do-or-die Game 3 against a tough Mystics team, New York used an 18-2 second-quarter run to battle back from a 10-point deficit and a 10-2 run to close the game to come out on top, 79-74.

#RoarWithUs: Lynx Reach Fifth Straight West Finals

Make it five seasons, five Western Conference Finals appearances for Maya Moore’s Minnesota Lynx.

The superstar put forth a gritty 20-point effort to lift the Lynx in Tuesday’s second winner-take-all Game 3, and Minnesota held off a dangerous, fourth-seeded Sparks team that got another monster performance from Candace Parker (28 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks).

#ESPN2: Eastern Conference Finals Begin Tonight at 7 PM ET

The Garden will come alive once again on Wednesday night when the Indiana Fever arrive in New York to face the Liberty in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

#WesternConferenceFinals: Lynx and Mercury Rivalry Renewed

For the fourth time in the last five years, it’s the Minnesota Lynx versus the Phoenix Mercury in the Western Conference Finals.

The stakes in the rivalry will be raised once again when this year’s series begins on Thursday night on ESPN 2: In each of their past three postseason meetings, the winner has gone on to capture the WNBA title.

The Lynx and Mercury aren’t the only ones renewing a rivalry this week.

It’s Indiana vs. New York in the East — a familiar (and unsettling) sight for MSG and Garden fixture Spike Lee, in particular.

During last night’s Game 3, Fever head coach Stephanie White met Spike and brought back old memories for longtime Pacers great Reggie Miller.

#WNBADraftLottery Presented by State Farm: Thursday at Halftime

Four WNBA franchises — the Seattle Storm, San Antonio Stars, Connecticut Sun and Atlanta Dream — are holding their breath as the WNBA Draft Lottery approaches.

The stakes are always high with the top two picks in April on the line, but this year’s stakes are even higher with a potential superstar in UConn forward/center Breanna Stewart coming through the pipeline.
