#TogetherWeWILL: Defending Champion Mercury Return to West Finals

Phoenix is one step closer to repeating as WNBA champions after dispatching of the Tulsa Shock in a two-game sweep. The Mercury were once again dominant in winning Game 1 by 33 points and Saturday night’s Game 2 by 24.

They celebrated in style on Twitter:

#BrittneyGriner: Mercury Center Dominates Series

41 points. 12-for-18 from the field. 17-of-19 from the foul line. 20 rebounds. 16 blocks. All in two games and a combined 52 minutes of play.

Brittney Griner took over both games of Phoenix’s sweep, making a statement that as long as the two-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year is on their side, the Mercury will be tough to beat.

#FeverWin: Indiana Evens Series with Chicago

Tamika Catchings led the way with her 23rd career 20+-point playoff game as the Indiana Fever won Game 2 against the Chicago Sky on Saturday night. It took a typical team effort from the Fever, with four other players scoring in double figures.

The Indiana defense held MVP Elena Delle Donne to just 11 points on 3-for-9 shooting.

#ESPN: Liberty, Sparks Try to Fend Off Elimination (1 PM ET, 3 PM ET)

One team looks to advance while the other looks to stay alive in Sunday’s matinee double-header on ESPN and WatchESPN.

The top-seeded New York Liberty fell in double overtime against the upset-minded Mystics in Game 1, and look to shake out of their slump against Washington, which has beaten New York in four out of their five matchups this season.

Meanwhile, the Sparks nearly pulled off an upset of their own, but Lynx superstar Maya Moore carried Minnesota to victory in Game 1. Candace Parker & Co. look to respond as the series shifts to L.A.

#ThankYouTulsa: Shock’s Run in Oklahoma Ends

Center Courtney Paris called it “bittersweet.”

After reaching their first WNBA Playoffs since moving to Tulsa in 2010, the Shock played their final game in the city on Saturday night. They will relocate to Dallas-Fort Worth next season.

A trip to the Eastern Conference will be on the line on Monday night when the Sky and Fever return to Chicago for a winner-take-all Game 3 (NBA TV, 8 PM ET).

The Sky beat the Fever on the road in Game 3 of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals.
