With so much #SummerHoops to take in this season, it’s hard to keep track of all of the storylines that will play out on a nightly basis this WNBA season. That’s what What’s Trending is for.

Here’s What’s Trending on August 17, 2015:

#CatchHistory: Catchings Becomes No. 2 all-time rebounder

Tamika Catchings has had her hand in a ton of historical moments this season, and Sunday night added another to the list. The 10-time WNBA All-Star passed Tina Thompson to become No. 2 on the WNBA’s all-time rebounding list.

#BurnBright: Liberty Honor Kymora’s Team

The New York Liberty have been hot as of late and sit atop the Eastern Conference, but that didn’t stop them from taking time to honor another team worthy of praise. The Liberty honored the Charlottesville Cavaliers over the weekend — a youth basketball team that was recently disqualified from a tournament for having a girl on the roster.

#SkyVsSparks: Parker Shines In Win Over Sky

NBA TV featured a slate of six WNBA games over the weekend, perhaps none bigger than the Chicago Sky against the Los Angeles Sparks. Both teams are entrenched in a battle for playoff position in their respective conferences and are led by some of the WNBA’s biggest names — Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne, Cappie Pondexter, Nneka Ogwumike.

Delle Donne has been the talk of the league all season long, but it was Parker who showed up and showed out Sunday. Parker nearly dropped a triple-double, even. She recorded 21 points, 10 assists — a career high —  and 8 rebounds in the win against the Sky.

#SeattleLove: Seahawks QB Russell Wilson Attends Storm Game

Only a few weeks remain before the NFL kicks off its regular season, and Russell Wilson and his girlfriend, Ciara, took some time out of a busy preseason to catch a Seattle Storm game.

Wilson and Ciara took pictures with some fans and were even greeted by Doppler, the Storm’s mascot.

#FancyFastbreak: Dream Show Off In Win Over Sun

The Atlanta Dream are trying desperately to claw their way into the playoff conversation in the Eastern Conference. On Sunday, they helped their cause with a win over the Connecticut Sun on NBA TV.

Atlanta showed off some fastbreak flair in the first quarter.

Angel McCoughtry had 18, as did rookie Reshanda Gray, who has played well after coming over in the blockbuster Sylvia Fowles/Erika de Souza trade.

#MercVsFever: Mo’ne Davis Honored Pregame

The Mercury hosted the Indiana Fever Sunday in a nationally-televised contest on ESPN 2. Tamika Catchings and the Fever stole the show and came out with the big win, but that wasn’t the only storyline to emerge  from the game. The Mercury honored Mo’ne Davis as a 2015 Woman of Inspiration. See more from the special recognition in the video below.
