The U.S. Women’s National Team defeated Latvia, 102-76, on Tuesday to finish Group D action 3-0 at the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Tenerife, Spain.
Latvia kept it close for the first half, but the USA went on a 17-0 run to close out the third quarter and never looked back. USA had seven players in double figures, led by Tina Charles (18 points), Diana Taurasi (16) and Brittney Griner (15), who made her first appearance of the tournament after sitting out two games due to injury.

With the victory, USA clinched a spot in Friday’s quarterfinals, which will be broadcast on ESPN+. Their opponent will be determined during quarterfinal qualifications on Wednesday.
Elena Delle Donne and Sue Bird did not play Tuesday, taking an opportunity to rest in preparation for the knockout round. WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart paced USA with 16.3 points per game during the Group Phase, followed by Rookie of the Year A’ja Wilson (15.7 points per game).
