NEW YORK, July 18, 2026 – Toronto Tempo Head Coach Sandy Brondello has been suspended without pay for one game for an inappropriate comment she made regarding Angel Reese of the Atlanta Dream during the Tempo’s 111-92 loss to the Dream yesterday in Toronto.
Brondello will serve her suspension Monday when the Tempo host the Las Vegas Aces.
The WNBA expects all coaches and team personnel to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and respect that are fundamental to our league.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Caitlin Clark seemed “bouncy” to Indiana coach Stephanie White before the Fever faced the Seattle Storm on Friday night.
The sharpshooting star not too far removed from a back injury bounced right into the record books — her own, her team’s and the WNBA’s.
Clark had the first 40-point game of her three-year career while helping rally the <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://apnews.com/article/storm-fever-score-caitlin-clark-dce68f8a7566b1af7fcc8c5805019d9e" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">Fever to a 110-107 victory</a>, scoring 45 points with 10 assists to become the first player with 40 or more points and 10 or more assists in a game in WNBA history.
Oh, and the scoring total was a franchise record.

It was Clark’s fourth game since returning from a two-week absence due to a back injury. Because of a long break between games, Clark only missed two. She played a season-low 16 minutes in a 106-92 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks in her first game back.
Clark, who became the <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://apnews.com/article/caitlin-clark-fever-3-pointers-9f3164aa44cf73a525d7ce02846d3eb9" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">fastest player to reach 200 career 3-pointers</a> in the first half, played all but 26 seconds of the fourth quarter against the Storm and scored 16 points while finishing just shy of her first 30-minute game in almost a month.
With the score tied in the final minute after the Fever trailed by eight midway through the fourth quarter, Clark recovered to block a breakaway layup attempt by Flau’jae Johnson. She then hit the 3-pointer that put Indiana up for good at 105-102 and made all four of her free throws in the final 17 seconds.
“I told (White) at halftime I felt really good and I didn’t want to lose this game,” Clark said. “I can trust all the work I’ve put in on my body. I’ve spent a ton of time on it. I know I’m doing all the right things. There was no way I was ever coming out of the game in the fourth quarter.”
Clark didn’t play the first back-to-back coming off her latest injury, and the Fever have their next one with a visit from the New York Liberty on Saturday night. Clark didn’t rule out playing in that one.
White wanted to spend a little time savoring this one.
“She does things that we haven’t seen,” White said. “In the moment, sometimes it’s surreal to see. Looking down at the stat sheet, and I’m looking at different numbers, and I look down at the stat sheet at the end of the game and it’s like, ‘Holy (expletive). Forty-five and 10.’ Just an absolutely incredible performance.”
Clark’s career night came after she went 3 of 19 from 3-point range in the previous three games, dropping her shooting percentage from behind the arc to 32%. She finished the game one 3 shy of her career best.
“You’ve just got to dig your feet in a little bit,” Clark said. “When it’s not going your way, nobody cares. Find a way to make it better and find a way to help your team win and make this team better.”

Caitlin Clark Bounces into Record Books with 45 points and 10 assists

NEW YORK, July 17, 2026 — The WNBA and the WNBA All-Star 2026 Host Committee will partner with local organizations and community leaders to create meaningful experiences for Chicago youth and families during AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star 2026. Several signature programs, including WNBA Changemaker Day and Jr. WNBA Day, will take place at the newly opened Obama Presidential Center. Through interactive workshops and community impact events, these programs are designed to uplift and empower the next generation and create lasting impact across Chicago. Programming begins on Wednesday, July 22, and concludes on Saturday, July 25.
In recognition of the WNBA’s milestone 30th season, the league will introduce a new initiative in which each All-Star team will compete on behalf of a different Chicago organization dedicated to keeping girls involved in sports, with charitable donations awarded to both organizations. Team Cooper will play for Angels Athletics, an organization that encourages young girls to participate in sports, supporting them in the development of skills and confidence to break down barriers and achieve goals throughout their lives. Team Weatherspoon will support Girls in the Game, an organization that partners with schools, parks, and community centers in Chicago to offer sports, health, and leadership programs. Between both organizations, a combined $100,000 will be awarded, with the winning team receiving $70,000 and the runner-up receiving $30,000.
WNBA Changemaker Day 
The WNBA and WNBA Changemakers Collective – Ally, AT&amp;T, AWS, CarMax, Deloitte, Google, and Nike – alongside the WNBA All-Star 2026 Host Committee, will team up with Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Sky, and Girls Opportunity Alliance to host the league’s third annual WNBA Changemaker Day – a day dedicated to advancing, elevating, and economically empowering groups through the power of sport.
This year’s Changemaker Day will bring together 150 rising high school freshmen girls for a day of inspiration, mentorship, and self-exploration, encouraging them to recognize their superpowers and envision their future as leaders in sports, business, and their communities. The day will begin with programming featuring industry leaders including WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison, Linnae Harper, Olympian, former Chicago Sky player, and Manager of Athletics and Sports Leadership at the Obama Presidential Center, and more. Speakers will discuss their own experiences in high school, how they discovered their own leadership qualities, and how that transfers to their communities, jobs, and themselves. Students will then participate in a hands-on vision board workshop, translating lessons from the panel into personal goals and aspirations while identifying the strengths that drive them.
The WNBA Changemakers Collective have also continued their collaboration with VOICEINSPORT (VIS), a women-founded digital platform dedicated to increasing access, visibility, and virtual mentorship for young girls in sport. Together, the WNBA Changemakers Collective and VIS have provided virtual mentorship to over 100,000 2 
girls around the country, and will continue this impact by providing mentoring to girls in the Chicago area as part of their target for an additional 50,000 girls reached during year three.

WNBA Cares State Farm® Assist Tracker Legacy Project 
The WNBA, the WNBA All-Star 2026 Host Committee, and State Farm® will dedicate a renovated wellness room at William H. Brown STEM Magnet School, providing students with a dedicated space to support their mental and physical health.
This project will transform an empty classroom into a recharge station, creating an enhanced space centered on healing and focus for students. The room will bridge the gap between academic rigor and emotional health through three core pillars: physical recovery, sensory regulation, and SEL skill-building. This project further advances the mission of the WNBA and State Farm, using the power of basketball to create positive impact on communities.
This wellness room dedication is an extension of the WNBA Cares State Farm Assist Tracker, where the WNBA and State Farm donate five dollars for every assist recorded throughout the WNBA season, and $1900 per assist during the 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game – enhancing classroom experiences, community centers, and after-school programming across the country.

After losing five games in a row, the Dream have turned things around by winning two of their last three, including a 101-92 victory over Los Angeles on Monday. While the talent on the roster is definitely there, with Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard both averaging 18+ PPG, they&#8217;ve struggled against suffocating defenses, dropping three games to Golden State during that five-game skid. On Friday, they&#8217;ll get a much softer defensive matchup against Toronto, a team allowing the second-most points per game in the league (91.5).
While the Tempo have plenty of offensive firepower with Marina Mabrey leading the way, they&#8217;re still without veteran Brittney Sykes, who remains sidelined with a foot injury. If Toronto were fully healthy, I&#8217;d lean much more toward the Tempo covering. However, they&#8217;ve averaged just 83.3 PPG (10th) over their last three games compared to Atlanta&#8217;s 94.0 PPG (3rd), giving the Dream the edge in this matchup.

The Sparks forward has carried the offense with Kelsey Plum sidelined, averaging 17.3 PPG and 8.8 RPG. Her efficiency has also been off the charts, shooting 51.7% from the field over her last five games, highlighted by a 10-of-16 performance against the Lynx on Monday. Facing a Sky team that owns the league&#8217;s 11th-ranked defensive rating (107.8), I&#8217;m loving the value on Ogwumike to keep her scoring streak alive.

How many times will I write about how impressed I am by Miles? The rookie star has become just that for the Lynx: a star. Sliding seamlessly into the starting point guard role in Minnesota, the TCU product is averaging 19.3 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 6.7 APG, and 1.3 SPG, solidifying herself as a true two-way threat. While she&#8217;s currently dealing with an ankle injury, Miles still totaled 27 PRA on Wednesday in just 26 minutes on the floor. Plus, over her last five games, the 23-year-old is averaging 31.8 PRA. I&#8217;m backing her on Saturday, but to be honest, I&#8217;ll back her on most nights to ball out.

Golden State continues to make a name for itself as a defensive goliath on the brink of topping the WNBA standings. With just seven loses on the season, the Valkyries own the best defensive rating (100.2) and allow the fewest amount of points per game to opponents by a wide five-point margin (76.1 PPG). The only other team who’s allowed less than 75 points over their last three? The Mystics. Washington is allowing 72.0 points per game over the same stretch, while scoring the least amount of points (70.3 PPG). Coming off of a rough 29% shooting night on Thursday and playing a tough defense in Golden State is a recipe for the under in my book.

NEW YORK, July 15, 2026 – The team rosters for the 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game, as selected by WNBA legends and special All-Star general managers Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon, were revealed today on ESPN during the 2026 WNBA All-Star Draft show.
The 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game will be played in Chicago at United Center on Saturday, July 25, and broadcast on ABC (8:30 p.m. ET).
Cooper and Weatherspoon drafted their respective rosters from the overall pool of All-Stars, including 10 starters and 12 reserves, making picks without regard to a player’s conference affiliation or position. The starters were previously selected through a combination of voting by fans, media, and current players; the reserves were selected by the league’s 15 head coaches.
Prior to the show, a coin flip was conducted to determine which general manager would be assigned the leading vote-getter from fan-balloting during WNBA All-Star Voting 2026 presented by Ally. As a result of winning the coin flip, Cooper’s “Team Coop” was assigned Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers, who led all players with 1,045,051 votes from fans. Weatherspoon’s “Team Spoon” was then assigned the second-leading vote-getter, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who received 1,023,321 votes.
Weatherspoon selected first from Starters; Cooper selected first from Reserves.
The selections began with Weatherspoon drafting four-time Kia WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces. Cooper then selected two-time MVP Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty.

Cooper and Weatherspoon are serving as special general managers for the 2026 AT&amp;T All-Star Game as part of the league&#8217;s 30th season celebration. In another nod to the league’s origins, “Team Coop” will wear WNBA red uniforms and “Team Spoon” will wear WNBA blue uniforms reminiscent of the league’s original colors from 1997.
The head coaches for the 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game will be Becky Hammon of the Las Vegas Aces and Cheryl Reeve of the Minnesota Lynx. Hammon and Reeve earned their All-Star coaching roles by virtue of having the teams with the two best records, regardless of conference, through games played on Friday, July 10.
While Las Vegas and Minnesota had identical 16-6 records through that date, Hammon earned the top spot by virtue of Las Vegas having defeated Minnesota in their one head-to-head matchup. Accordingly, Hammon was assigned to coach the team with the leading fan-vote-getter, Bueckers (Team Coop). Reeve was assigned to the team with the second-leading fan-vote-getter, Clark (Team Spoon).
Also in recognition of the WNBA’s milestone 30th season, the league is introducing a new initiative to the AT&amp;T All-Star Game through which the All-Star teams will compete for a $100,000 prize pool that will benefit two Chicago-based organizations dedicated to keeping girls involved in sports. A sum of $70,000 will be awarded to the organization affiliated with the winning team, and $30,000 will be awarded to the organization affiliated with the runner-up team.

<li>“Team Coop” will play for <a href="https://angelsathleticsinc.com/">Angels Athletics</a>, an organization that encourages young girls to participate in sports, supporting them in the development of skills and confidence to break down barriers and achieve goals throughout their lives.</li>
<li>“Team Spoon” will support <a href="https://www.girlsinthegame.org/">Girls in the Game</a>, an organization that partners with schools, parks, and community centers in Chicago to offer sports, health, and leadership programs.</li>

The 2026 AT&amp;T WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday July 25 will be the centerpiece of three days packed with WNBA activities, including the Kia WNBA Shooting Stars and State Farm WNBA 3-Point Contest on Friday, July 24 (ESPN, 8 p.m. ET) at Wintrust Arena, and WNBA Live presented by AWS being held Thursday evening through Saturday at McCormick Place.
