During her penultimate WNBA season, Tamika Catchings seems to be reaching another milestone almost every week.
On Wednesday night, she tallied her 1,000th steal, distancing herself from Ticha Penicheiro, Sheryl Swoopes and others as the league’s all-time career steals leader. Atlanta Dream forward DeLisha Milton-Jones ranks second among active players … 386 steals behind Catchings.
This season alone, Catchings has also played in her record 10th (and final) All-Star Game, moved into the No. 2 spot on the all-time scoring list, and jumped to No. 2 on the all-time rebounding list after notching her 3,000th.
Wednesday’s feat came in a tough loss to the Sparks on NBA TV in which Catchings tied a season-high with five steals while posting 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
