Sue Bird Enters WNBA All-Time Top 10 in Scoring
Diana Taurasi isn’t the only one rewriting the record books this WNBA season.
Sue Bird, Taurasi’s good friend and fellow WNBA legend, continues to make history herself. Tuesday night she passed Katie Douglas for No. 10 on the league’s all-time scoring list. Bird needed nine points to pass Douglas going into Seattle’s game against San Antonio, and the veteran point guard scored 10 to reach 5,565 for her career.

Even more fitting for Bird, she has a chance to become the league’s all-time leader in assists by the end of the season. Bird is now just 146 dimes behind Ticha Penicheiro (2,599) for the top spot.
Bird is also in the all-time top 10 in three-pointers and steals. On the international stage, her four Olympic gold medals with Team USA are tied for the most by any male or female basketball player.
