CHICAGO (April 11, 2026) — The Chicago Sky signed free agent guard and seven-time All-Star Skylar Diggins, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Skylar is a player we have coveted for years. We are ecstatic to bring her to Chicago,” General Manager Jeff Pagliocca said. “She is one of the all-time elite passers in our game and continues to play at a high level on both sides of the ball.”
“Diggins is the kind of player who elevates everyone around her,” Head Coach Tyler Marsh said. “Skylar is a true veteran leader, and she possesses unmatched speed and shot creation potential. I can’t wait to work with her.”
In addition to her All-Star achievements, Diggins is a six-time All-WNBA Team selection and holds career averages of 16.4 points, 5.3 assists, 2.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.7 blocks.
She is among all-time leaderboards for several franchises. For Dallas, she is the team’s all-time leader in assists per game (4.9) while ranking third in points (2,670) and fourth in steals (225). Despite only playing three seasons in Phoenix, she is eighth on their all-time assists list (427). And in just two years with Seattle, she is fifth on their all-time assists leaderboard at (515).
Diggins is sixth all-time in league history in assists per game (5.3), 25th in points (5,489) and eighth in points-assists double-doubles (16).
Diggins played collegiately with Notre Dame from 2009-13. In 150 college appearances, she averaged 15.7 points and 5.0 assists. In her time with the Fighting Irish, she made two National Finals and a Final Four.
For her outstanding college play, Diggins owns a bevy of collegiate accolades. She was a three-time AP All-American, a two-time Big East Player of the Year and made an All-Big East Team in all of her college seasons.
She is Notre Dame’s all-time leader in free throws and minutes played, and ranks third in points (2,357), second in steals (381) and third in assists (745).
Diggins is an extremely decorated player in USA Basketball history, owning a 53-4 competitive record while there. She was part of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics USA team, helping the squad win gold. She also won gold medals in the 2012 FIBA 3&#215;3 World Championship, 2011 World University Games, 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship and 2008 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.
Diggins is originally from South Bend, Indiana, fewer than two hours from Chicago.

Skylar Diggins, Arike Ogunbowale, and Jackie Young were foundational to Notre Dame&#8217;s sustained presence in the NCAA Women’s Final Four, with the trio combining for seven championship game appearances. Each player earned multiple All-American honors and were selected as top-five picks in their respective WNBA Drafts, with Diggins drafted No. 3 overall in 2013, and Young and Ogunbowale going No. 1 and No. 5 overall respectively in the 2019 WNBA Draft.

Skylar Diggins’ tenure at Notre Dame was highlighted by her consistent statistical output and back-to-back conference honors. From 2010 to 2013, she was a 4x AP All-American and a 4x All-Big East selection, while also being named the Big East Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013.
During her postseason career, Diggins led the Fighting Irish to three consecutive Final Four appearances and two national championship games. For her performances in those rounds, she was twice named to the NCAA All-Tournament team.

Arike Ogunbowale’s collegiate career at Notre Dame included being named a 2x AP All-American and a 2x All-ACC selection. During her tenure, she led the program to back-to-back national championship game appearances in 2018 and 2019. For her performances across multiple deep postseason runs, she was also recognized as a 2x NCAA All-Tournament team member.
In 2018, Ogunbowale led the Fighting Irish to the NCAA Championship highlighted by a game-winner to capture the title, and was named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Jackie Young’s run at Notre Dame was decorated by her versatile production across multiple categories. From 2017 to 2019, she was an AP All-American, a 2x All-ACC selection, and a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team.
In 2018, Young helped lead the program to the NCAA Championship, scoring 32 points in the Final Four matchup. During her final season in 2019, she was named the ACC Tournament MVP and became the first player in program history to record two triple-doubles in a single season before being selected No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A’ja Wilson scored 38 points to tie a playoff career high, <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://x.com/LVAces/status/1968885139502420165" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">Jackie Young had a go-ahead follow shot with 12.4 seconds left</a> and the Las Vegas Aces beat the Seattle Storm 74-73 on Thursday night to secure a spot in the WNBA semifinals.
Wilson, who had 25 points in the second half, had a layup roll off the rim with 25 seconds left and <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://x.com/espn/status/1968884610193903826" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">Erica Wheeler raced the other way</a> on a 2-on-1 break with Skylar Diggins. Wheeler pulled up in the lane to sink a jumper to give Seattle a 73-72 lead with 18 seconds remaining.
Wilson missed another shot, but Young was there for the putback. After a timeout to get to midcourt, Wheeler had a good look from the free throw line that hit off the back rim and Seattle could not get off another shot before the buzzer.
Las Vegas secured its seventh consecutive semifinal appearance. The second-seeded Aces advance to play on Sunday against No. 6 <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://apnews.com/article/fever-dream-score-6f4823e740c39c107689b3487377633a" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">Indiana, which eliminated Atlanta earlier</a>.
Young finished with 14 points and Chelsea Gray had 12 points and eight assists for Las Vegas. Wilson, who was 14 of 26 from the field and 10 of 11 at the line, scored 30-plus points in a playoff game for the sixth time in her career — tied for the second-most in WNBA history.

SEATTLE (AP) — Skylar Diggins scored 26 points, <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://x.com/WNBA/status/1968159141480038799" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">including a jumper in the lane with 4.2 seconds left</a>, Nneka Ogwumike had 24 points and 10 rebounds, and the Seattle Storm forced a deciding Game 3 with an 86-83 victory over the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday night.
Seattle won its first playoff game since 2022. The Storm will play at Las Vegas on Thursday for a spot in the WNBA semifinals.
Las Vegas had closed the season on a 16-game winning streak, before winning <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://apnews.com/article/storm-aces-score-353ae7c6fa564e01b909fe0a268aa271" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">Game 1 on Sunday</a>.
The Storm trailed 79-70 before closing on a 16-4 run.
Dominique Malonga was fouled while making a layup in transition with 31 seconds left and she made the free throw to give Seattle its first lead, 84-83, since it was 37-36. Chelsea Gray had a turnover at the other end trying to find Jackie Young in the lane.
Ogwumike took an inbounds pass with 27.7 seconds left and held the ball near midcourt until giving it to Diggins with about 14 to go. Diggins drove into the lane and sank a shot near the free-throw line for a three-point lead.
Las Vegas had a chance to tie it at the buzzer but Jewell Loyd’s 3-pointer hit off the right side of the rim.
Malonga finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Erica Wheeler also scored 11 for Seattle.
Young led Las Vegas with 25 points. A’ja Wilson had 21 points and 13 rebounds for <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://x.com/ESPNInsights/status/1968152679244243219" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">her 22nd playoff double-double.</a>
Ogwumike scored 11 points in the first quarter, Diggins added 15 points in the second and Seattle was within 45-44 at the break after closing on a 7-0 run. <a class="Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement" href="https://x.com/WNBA/status/1968140563984912522" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-gtm-enhancement-style="LinkEnhancementA">Diggins sank a 3-pointer with 51.4 seconds left</a> following her steal, and she added two free throws at 32.3.
Diggins had just 12 points in Seattle’s loss on Sunday in the series opener, and Ogwumike had 11.
