How Acquired: Damiris Dantas joined the fever on February 1, 2024 as a free agent. 
WNBA Career: In Dantas’ first season with the Fever she played in 20 games, missing much of the first part of the season due to injury, while averaging 4.5 points in the back half of the year.    Dantas spent two stints with the Minnesota Lynx from 2014-15 and 2019-23 and in her most recent stint she appeared in 87 games, scoring 783 points. Meanwhile from 2014-15 Dantas appeared in 36 games, averaging 5.8 points per season.     On July 27, 2015, Dantas was traded from Minnesota to the Atlanta Dream, playing in 16 games, averaging 8.3 points per game. Dantas missed the 2016 season while preparing for the 2016 Summer Olympics but returned to the Dream in 2017 where she averaged 7.7 points per game in 34 appearances.     International Experiance: Internationally, Dantas has played with Botaş SK (2024) and OGM Ormanspor (2023) in Turkey, as well as Americana (2013-15), Maranhao (2013) and Ourinhos (2012) all in her home country of Brazil. Dantas began her professional career with Real Celta Vigo in Spain where she played from 2011-2012.     With the Brazil national team Dantas has played in two Summer Olympics, including 2012 in London and 2016 in Brazil. Dantas has won the 2019 and 2011 Pan American Games with Brazil, as well as the 2011 and 2023 FIBA AmeriCup. In 2011 Dantas was named the Most Valuable player at the U-19 FIBA World Championships where Brazil was awarded the bronze medal.

2021 SEASON Saw her seventh WNBA season cut short by a Lisfranc injury in her right foot suffered Aug. 31 vs. New York that caused her to miss all seven September contests… Played in 24 games overall, averaging 7.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 2.3 apg in 23.8 mpg and shooting 37.7% from the field, 33.3% (34-for-102) from long distance and 75.0% from the line… Tumbled to 4.7 ppg (30.3%) in six August starts, having tallied 11.9 ppg (49.2%) – including 41.0% (16-for-39) from three-point range – in her final seven games prior to the Olympic Break… Contributed a season-high nine rebounds (one of three-times she led) and a career-best four steals July 9 at Las Vegas… Scored a season-best 23 points June 23 in Atlanta; her 6-for-11 effort from long distance marked career highs in both categories… Handed out a season-high five assists and matched her career best with two blocks in the May 30 win vs. Connecticut.
