Not long ago, Penny Taylor announced she will be retiring at the end of this WNBA season, meaning these Olympic Games in Rio will be her last. If Tuesday’s game against France is any indication, Taylor will be going out in style.

The 35-year-old is Australia’s captain, and put on a performance worthy of a leader Tuesday, as she poured in a new Olympic career-high 31 points, while also dishing out nine assists and grabbing five rebounds.

Taylor missed just three shots, going 10-of-13 from the field, and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line to lead Australia to the big 89-71 victory over France.

It was also the first time any Australian had reached the 30-point mark in an Olympic game since the great Lauren Jackson dropped 30 for the Opals against Russia in 2008 in Beijing.
