Diana Taurasi Sets WNBA Record For Most Postseason Three-Pointers

Early in the second quarter of the first round playoff game between the Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever Wednesday, Diana Taurasi cut up to the top of the key, took the pass from Penny Taylor, squared to the basket, and drained a three-pointer.

Taurasi’s Record Breaking Three

At halftime, ESPNews ran a feature on Becky Hammon, showing the legendary point guard’s best highlights, and discussing her career.

It was a poetic choice, as the triple Taurasi knocked down was her 113th in postseason play, pushing her past Hammon for the most three-pointers in WNBA postseason history.

What’s most impressive about Taurasi’s record breaking make, was that it came in just her 43rd career playoff game, whereas Hammon played in 60 postseason games in her storied career.
