Dallas, New York, Phoenix, Seattle Free Agency Frenzy

In a matter of minutes, the WNBA Free Agency world was turned upside down. Dallas, New York, Phoenix and Seattle all got in on the action. Here’s what went down:

The Liberty acquired the 6th overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft and a 2022 First Round pick from the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for guard Kia Nurse and forward Megan Walker.

The Storm sent Howard to New York in exchange for the Liberty’s 2021 No. 1 pick, 2022 first-round pick (PHO) and New York’s 2022 second-round pick.

Seattle’s 2022 first-round pick (PHO) was sent to Minnesota for Mikiah Herbert-Harrigan and the 2021 No. 1 pick was sent to Dallas for Katie Lou Samuelson and Dallas’ own 2022 second-round pick.

Wings Acquire 2021 Number One Overall Pick

The Dallas Wings announced today the team acquired the number one overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft from Seattle via New York for forward Katie Lou Samuelson and Dallas’s second-round pick in 2022.

New York Liberty Acquire Natasha Howard And Sami Whitcomb

The New York Liberty have acquired three-time WNBA Champion Natasha Howard and two-time champion Sami Whitcomb from the Seattle Storm in separate trade transactions. Per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Three trades in total were executed between three teams to bring Howard and Whitcomb to the Big Apple.

Former Connecticut Huskies Headed To Phoenix From New York In Exchange For Draft Assets

The three-time WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury today acquired 24-year-old All-Star wing Kia Nurse and wing Megan Walker from the New York Liberty, the team announced today. In exchange, Phoenix has sent its 2021 first-round pick (sixth overall) and 2022 first-round pick to the Liberty.

Storm Acquires Katie Lou Samuelson, Mikiah “Kiki” Herbert Harrigan; Rights To Stephanie Talbot And Two 2022 Draft Picks

The Seattle Storm acquired Katie Lou Samuelson from the Dallas Wings and Mikiah “Kiki” Herbert Harrigan from the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday in trades following a move to send Natasha Howard to New York. The Storm also received Dallas and New York’s 2022 second-round picks. Additionally, Sami Whitcomb was traded to New York in exchange for player rights to Stephanie Talbot.
