Breanna Stewart Named Sports Illustrated Sportsperson Of The Year
Sports Illustrated released their recipients of the 2020 Sportsperson Of The Year. “And so our Sportsperson of the Year award goes to five men and women who in 2020 were champions in every sense of the word: champions on the field, champions for others off it.”
Breanna Stewart, LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes, Naomi O’saka and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif were the five athletes who were recipients of this award.
Sports Illustrated high lighted Stewart’s efforts in 2020 by putting emphasis on how the Finals MVP was not only a champion on the court but an activist for social justice off the court.
As a member of the WNBA’s Social Justice Council, Stewart continues to use her voice as an advocate for change.
