Renee Montgomery made history as the first former WNBA player with team equity and an executive title, now serving as partner and Vice President of the Atlanta Dream since 2021. Check out her story of going from the court to the boardroom.
Montgomery played 11 WNBA seasons, winning two titles with Minnesota, earning an All-Star nod, and claiming Sixth Woman of the Year before finishing her career with the Dream.

She sat out the 2020 season to focus on social justice work, a decision that reshaped her vision for change in sports.
Inspired by LeBron James’ call to action, she pursued ownership when the Dream went up for sale and joined the buying group in February 2021. That move made her the first former WNBA player with team equity (with the Atlanta Dream) and executive roles. Since 2021, she has served as a partner and Vice President.
