Basketball Community Congratulates Dawn Staley
WNBA legend Dawn Staley, who was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013, has a resume that stacks up with nearly any women that has ever played the game, including winning three Olympic Gold Medals and being recognized in 2011 as one of the top 15 players in WNBA history.
This past weekend, she added to her resume by leading South Carolina to the program’s first-ever Final Four. In the process, Staley became the first former WNBA player to lead a team to the Final Four.
Staley revived the South Carolina program that is one of the biggest stories in the nation this season and countless people in the basketball community wished her well on social media. Below is a sampling of the well wishes.
I love how passionate Dawn Staley is on the sidelines, coaching. That’s exactly how I remember watching her as a player! She loves the game!
