The Flashback

The Significance

Hughes was one of the great coaches in league history, winning WNBA Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2007. Over the course of his 16 seasons coaching, Hughes amassed the 2nd most wins in league history with 237, and is the only coach in league history to have led three different franchises to the playoffs.

Appel-Marinelli was the fifth overall pick in the 2010 WNBA Draft, and spent her entire career with the Stars.
