ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Plenette Pierson scored six of her 21 points in overtime and the Dallas Wings beat the San Antonio Stars 97-90 on Thursday night for their fourth straight victory.
Odyssey Sims made a long jumper from the wing to give Dallas an 83-81 lead with 36 seconds left in regulation, but Jayne Appel-Marinelli tied it with a baseline jumper. Pierson missed two shots in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter.
Dallas started overtime on a 10-3 run, highlighted by Karima Christmas' give-and-go layup and Sims' pull-up jumper. San Antonio cut it to 93-90 with 1:06 left, but Skylar Diggins and Sims made 4 of 4 free throws to seal it.
It was Dallas' second overtime victory in three games.
Diggins and Sims finished with 16 points apiece for Dallas (7-7), which is ranked No. 6 in the AP power poll. Glory Johnson had her third straight double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Kayla McBride and Dearica Hamby each scored 18 points for 12th-ranked San Antonio (2-11). The Stars are winless in six road games this season.
The teams combined to make 50 of 54 free throws - with two misses apiece.
