SAN ANTONIO (AP) Camille Little scored 13 points, Kelsey Bone had 12 points and 10 rebounds and the Connecticut Sun beat the San Antonio Stars 72-68 on Thursday.
Connecticut scored just two points through the first four-plus minutes of the fourth quarter but scored on three straight possessions, highlighted by Alyssa Thomas's baseline jumper, to take a 65-59 lead with 4:22 remaining.
Kayla McBride sank a 3-pointer with 57 seconds remaining to pull the Stars to 69-67. McBride missed a 3-pointer on San Antonio's next possession and Jasmine Thomas made two free throws to extend Connecticut's lead to 71-67 with 19.2 seconds left.
Alyssa Thomas had 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals and Jasmine Thomas added 12 points and eight assists for Connecticut (1-1), which is ranked 10th in the AP WNBA power poll.
Connecticut jumped out to a 25-17 lead but San Antonio started the second quarter on an 8-0 run to tie it at 25-all. The Sun went scoreless for three-plus minutes late in the second quarter until going on a 7-0 run to close out the first half for a 39-36 lead.
Dearica Hamby had 16 points and nine rebounds for San Antonio (0-2). McBride was just 5-of-18 shooting from the field and scored 13 points for the 12th-ranked Stars.
