NEW YORK (AP) Tina Charles had 22 points and 12 rebounds for her sixth double-double and the New York Liberty beat Connecticut 64-57 on Thursday night to extend the Sun's losing streak to five games.
Epiphanny Prince added 10 points for New York (9-5) while Kiah Stokes had seven points, eight rebounds and eight blocks - breaking the franchise record of six.
Prince made a jumper to give New York a 62-54 lead - its largest of the game - with 5:28 remaining. Connecticut scored three points the rest of the way.
In the third quarter, Prince converted a three-point play to cap New York's 8-0 run for a 36-33 lead. There were seven lead changes in the third, including New York's 5-0 run to end it with a 52-50 lead.
Alex Bentley led Connecticut (7-6) with 15 points. Kelsey Bone and Shekinna Stricklen added 11 apiece.
