Getting to know you ... Katie Cronin

Name:
Katie Cronin
Position:
Guard/Forward
College/Country:
Colorado State University, not Colorado.
What is your favorite book?
The Bible.
Who is your favorite basketball player?
Dirk Nowitzki/Steve Nash.
Have you played on a professional team before?
Im the oldest rookie. Lets see, Ive played for the Chill. Ive played with New York twice. Ive been with Seattle, and Ive been with San Antonio. I really never played. I was on their training camp rosters. So I guess Ive never really played on a WNBA team.
Is this your first time in Connecticut? What was your first impression?
This is my first time in Connecticut and it has been wonderful. It really has. Honestly, the people, the management, the staff have treated my like a human being and I appreciate that. Its just a different atmosphere. Thats all that you can ask for when youre coming into a situation like this, that its comfortable, youre welcomed and, whether youre a good basketball player or not, everybodys going to treat you the same.
Who is the player you most look forward to playing against and why?
Oh, I dont really know.
Who is the player you most look forward to playing with and why?
Everybody on this team. Katie Douglas, Lindsay Whalen, Nykesha Sales. Theyve done a phenomenal job here. Ive seen them play, and I like their style. I like what Coach T has done with them. They play hard and play aggressive.
What would you be doing if you were not here at Sun training camp?
I would be planning a career. I need to start a career, a real job. I would just be trying to get a job for the rest of my life. I live by the moment, so whatever comes up.
What is one thing you have learned since coming to Connecticut?
Every opportunity in your life has a reason for it. You just have to take it day-by-day. Ive been there and done that with training camps and its taught me a lot about life and how to persevere and overcome adversity. It teaches you to become a strong human-being.
What is your favorite basketball moment?
It would be my entire senior year in college. I cannot think of one time that I did not enjoy. We had a great year. We were fourth in the nation. It was fun and I had great people around me. They are all friends to this day.
