Lauren Jackson Reaches 6,000 Career Points
During Friday's win over the San Antonio Silver Stars, Lauren Jackson made history as the fourth player in WNBA history to score 6,000 career points. Jackson entered the game needing seven points to get there and did so early in the second quarter, scoring eight points in the period's first 1:44, capped by a driving layup to pass the mark. Three of the four players to reach the milestone - Jackson, Katie Smith and all-time scoring leader Tina Thompson - currently play for the Storm. Of the four, Jackson was the youngest to 6,000 career points by nearly four years and required 32 fewer games to get there.

It was awesome. She'll keep adding on. It's fun to see her do it, Tina do it and I got it. It's kind of funny to have three of us on one team. It's great for her, it's another milestone. It's hard for all of us because we just play. You don't do it for anything other than you want to do the best that you can and for her, she's a scorer and those things add up. For all of us, we just downplay stuff just because later on we will look back and be like, 'Man, that's pretty cool.' Now you just want to knock down the open looks, but it's really cool to have the three of us that have put up a lot of points.

I didn't even think about it. Nobody said anything until it got to the timeout and then everyone was cheering and I was like 'Damn, that must have been a nice layup!'
