Internships:
Are you looking for hands-on experience, mentoring and resume building in the field of professional sports? If so, the Seattle Storm Internship Program may be for you.
Seattle Storm interns spend up to 6 months focusing on one area of the organization, while still getting the chance to experience the total spectrum of running a team. Interns leave with experience and success designed to launch them on the career path of their choice. While Seattle Storm internships are unpaid, the experience gained is priceless. College credit is available. We are proud to offer the following internship for summer 2015:
What you will do:
- Assist in providing players with individualized programming tailored to specific needs
- Assist with implementation of strength, conditioning, and recovery work
- Assist with any and all components of the Storm Performance program, from completing folders, assisting with nutrition education planning, stretching, providing availability for extra workouts, working with injured athletes, etc.
- Help create a positive and motivating environment within the weight/cardio rooms
What you will learn:
- Specifics of strength programming
- Specifics of conditioning programming
- Recovery/stretching modalities and ways that they can be implemented
- Dynamic warm-ups and the rationale behind specific exercises/stretches
- Performance nutrition implementation/education ideas
- Individualizing programs to specific needs of players based on numerous circumstances
What we ask of you:
- Be available for the season, approximately May through September.
- Be available to work practice days as well as game nights � practice schedule and game schedule to be outlined based on school schedule & basketball training schedule
- Pursuing either a 4-year college degree, post-graduate degree, or have recently graduated in, related field
- Have a maintained 3.0 GPA
Desired Qualifications:
- Manage multiple tasks and objectives simultaneously

What you will do:
- Work with the Director of Ticket Operations in processing and printing of all season, group, and ticket package accounts
- In conjunction, assist with box office duties day-of-game
- Paid game-day position available in addition to office duties
- Management of game night staff
- Interact with customers/staff to answer questions and resolve ticket issues
- Assist in the development of targeted sales and marketing e-mails
- Manage the in-season data collection process
- Work closely with Director of Research and Direct Marketing on data analysis projects and management of the sales/CRM database
- Assist in implementation of the 2016 Membership Renewal campaign
- Work closely with the Ticket Sales & Service department on day-to-day operational reporting and projects
- Other duties as assigned
What you will learn:
- Ticketmaster�s Archtics software, along with other Ticketmaster products
- How to effectively and efficiently run a box office.
- Effective strategies and practices for successful database marketing campaigns
- What happens behind the scenes at professional sporting events, and the role the box office, ticket and database operations play in a team�s success
- Teamwork and the ability to work across many different platforms in an organization (sales, operations, marketing, communication, etc.)
- Customer service skills
What we ask of you:
- Candidates who are pursuing a degree in Sports Management, business, or related field
- Has a desire and passion to work in professional sports
- A self-starter with a willingness to listen, learn, and share their own ideas
- Ability to handle pressure and be able to thrive in fast-paced working environment
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Available to work game nights and weekends when necessary
What you will do:
- Manage a web project from start to finish � project to be determined based on intern interest, experience and organizational needs
- Assist in keeping StormBasketball.com updated
- Assist in tracking the analytics to StormBaskteball.com
- Assist in managing game day photos � uploading and tagging
- Assist in setting up images to use for web and email
What you will learn:
- How to work with other departments in the organization to implement a web project
- How to execute a program from start to finish: planning, implementation, and follow-up
- How to manage multiple projects at once
- How to utilize web analytics in a real time environment
What we ask of you:
- Strong communications skills, oral and written
- Organized, able to track projects, manage time and follow-through
- Interested in web design and development
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS
- Ideally available from early May through October, 25 hours per week
- Should be flexible and available to work nights and weekends, attending and assisting at most Seattle Storm home games and other events
- Reliable and committed to making the most of your Storm internship
- Must love sports, especially women�s basketball!
