GM & HEAD COACH TRUDI LACEY SAYS...
(On keys to tonights game)
"We did a great job early on by building a 15-lead however, in the 2nd half, we just didnt execute. We had opportunities at the end of the game but unfortunately we turned the ball over.
(On her assessment of the preseason)
I look at the preseason as a way to improve in all areas. We want to work on our defense for 40 minutes. It seems whenever we get a big lead, we tend to get a little slack on defense. We have until Saturday to work on this.
INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM
TANGELA SMITH
(On keys to the game)
We simply didnt take care of the ball in the 2nd half. We also failed to execute, but Im confident we will get it together by opening night.
(On her individual performance)
I feel that I shot terrible (tonight). Im glad that I was able to get nine rebounds but overall, I wasnt satisfied with my performance. In due time, my game will come around.
SHERI SAM
(On keys to the game)
We had 21 turnovers. They went to the line 25 times to our 10. That just wont get it done. We still felt like we were going to win going into OT, but we just gave them too many chances.
(On heading into the regular season)
Right now, we need to take care better care of the ball. Going into the Saturdays game, it is one of several things we have to correct. Hopefully we will be able to correct this in practice.
