HEAD COACH MUGGSY BOGUES SAYS...
(On the game) It was a tough game. We fought hard. We had an opportunity to win the game and gave up big plays. They played extremely hard and did everything I asked them to do. We accomplished some goals tonight. We didn't turn the ball over as much as we did last game. We kept the offensive rebounds pretty much even. We played nice defense. We just missed some opportunities in the latter part of the game.

(On losing the 18-point lead) We got out of the gates early and couldn't play like that for 20 minutes of the first half, so we had to make some substitutions. I thing they took advantage of our substitutions. We got our composure and came out in the second half with a lot more intensity. New York had the momentum, and we just continued to fight.

(On the offensive balance the Sting had) We have to have that balance. We can't have just one or two people doing all the scoring. We've got to open it up so our perimeter shooters can shoot the ball, and that's something we're stressing to them. We're also sharing the basketball, and that's a good sign. If we keep playing like that, we're going to win a lot of games.

(On how this team has changed) Our biggest thing is that we want to get better as a basketball team. It's an adjustment, and we're building for next year. This is an opportunity for me to see what these ladies are all about and what they're made of, and I'm liking what I see.

(On falling short in the second overtime) They made shots in that second overtime when they needed to and got a good cushion, and we weren't able to make a shot and come back. We got ourselves in a hole, and they controlled the whole five minutes of overtime.

(On the keys to the game) Having a big lead is the biggest thing right there. When you have that big of a lead, they're a good team and you have to expect them to make a run, but we shouldn't have given up that whole lead. I think we need to get to the point where we can hold on to that. That's what we're building on.

ADRIENNE GOODSON (13 Pts, 5 Reb, 3 Ast)
(On keys to the game) They got some key offensive rebounds. The hit some shots that broke our back, and we just had a few mental lapses in that last five minutes. I think it's all about learning how to win. I think this team right now is learning to do that. We need to learn how to hold on to a lead, and that comes with situations like this.
