The Charlotte Sting�s Trudi Lacey and Andrea Stinson will travel to Tennessee this weekend to participate in the second-annual Memphis Grizzlies MLK, Jr. Day celebration. Robert Johnson, owner of the Charlotte Sting and Charlotte Bobcats, attended the event last year. This year�s celebration will pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision.

Lacey, general manager and head coach of the Sting, and Stinson, the team�s all-time leading scorer and a two-time WNBA All-Star, will take part in a symposium on Sunday, January 18 at Cannon Performing Arts Center to honor basketball personalities who have made a difference through education. In addition to the Sting duo, the symposium also features Al Attles and Clifford Ray of the Golden State Warriors, Earl Lloyd, the first African-American player in the NBA, Gene Bartow of the Memphis Grizzlies and Larry Finch, former Memphis State player and coach. Admission to this event is free.

Lacey and Stinson will also attend the Memphis Grizzlies vs. Houston Rockets nationally televised game on Monday, January 19 where they will be recognized at halftime in a tribute to the unique relationships between coaches and players. Halftime will be capped off by a performance from Elektra recording artist Gerald LeVert. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.
