Hammon Claims Free Throw World Record

NEW ORLEANS � San Antonio Silver Stars guard Becky Hammon obliterated the Guinness World Record for Most Free Throws Made in a Minute (women�s category) after swishing 38 of 42 attempts in the allotted 60 seconds on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas.
Athletes, mascots and fans alike conspired to set or break Guinness World Records during the four days of all-star activities in New Orleans. Hammon joined fellow WNBA stars Katie Smith and Seimone Augustus in an attempt to break the free throw mark, set in 2005 (26 free throws). Smith went first, knocking down 31, which turned out to be a short-lived new record because Hammon wiped it out with her 38 out of 42 attempts. Augustus followed, but couldn�t find the rhythm to eclipse Hammon�s mark.
